One of Russia's most acclaimed documentary filmmakers.
Is a member of the Russian Academy of Television.
Goldovskaya is credited as the first woman in Russia to be the combined director, writer, cinematographer, and producer of her films.
Her autobiography, "A Woman With a Movie Camera," was translated by Antonina W. Bouis and published by University of Texas Press.
In the mid-1990s she moved to California and taught at the UCLA School of Film and Television in Los Angeles.
