Entering films as a screenwriter in 1950, Bernard Girard made his
directorial debut in 1957. His film career has been sporadic, as he
concentrated mostly on television. He did make a splash with a stylish
comedy/thriller, Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round (1966), but the majority of his film output has been
routine.
Girard served in the Army Air Corps before moving to Hollywood in the late 1940s.
Girard was the original director of the movie, "We're All Crazy Now," which was filmed in summer-fall 1979. The movie was never released, but portions of it were used in "Du-Beat-E-O" (1984).
