So far, Supergirl has done a fine job when it comes to adapting a wide array of villains from comics to screen, sometimes feeling like a live action answer to Superman: The Animated Series. And while some baddies to exist within this universe are seemingly being introduced for the first time (Bizarro, Parasite, Metallo and Mr. Mxyzptlk immediately come to mind), there are some major players who have obviously been left to Kara’s Boy Scout of a cousin.
One such example is that of Zod, whom we saw appear in the season 2 finale as a hallucination of Clark’s. As it turns out, this was more so a nod to all this version of the Man of Steel has gone through, and it sounds like we shouldn’t expect Mark Gibbon to reprise the role anytime soon.

“Nevertheless, She Persisted.” That’s the title of the season 2 finale of Supergirl, says executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, and it’s due to air on May 22nd on The CW. It’s a title that sets quite a tone, too. The show has continued to go from strength to strength, following its move from CBS, and has introduced a range of new characters over the course of its 22 episode second season. But the title of the season 2 finale brings with it such connotations that we can surely expect something both resonant and remarkable.
The phrase, “nevertheless, she persisted,” became a rallying cry for feminists and civil rights activists on February 7th, 2017, after Senator Elizabeth Warren was subject to a silencing vote for her remarks during the debate regarding the confirmation of Senator Jeff Sessions as U.S Attorney General. Warren vehemently opposed his confirmation, and made this plain during a...

If you’ve been keeping up with the latest news pertaining to DC TV shows, then you’re well aware of how each series’ creative minds intend to pull out all the stops in the final stretch of the current season, as is to be expected. That said, it comes as no surprise that Supergirl is of that ilk, especially since it’s really stepped up its game after coming over to The CW.

As we continue to live in a digital age, it becomes exceedingly harder for anyone to keep their cards close to their vest, especially if you work in the entertainment industry. When I was a kid, you’d have to wait to read about the latest buzz surrounding upcoming superhero productions until the newspaper arrived or in a magazine such as Starlog. These days, however, word can get out faster than an official announcement can be made, a recent example of which is a developing situation involving Supergirl.
You see, just last week, the Dex-Starr was let out of the bag (names of any prominent Kryptonian cats escape me at the moment, so you’re going to have to settle for the most adorable member of the Red Lantern Corps), and none other than Mark Gibbon was revealed to be playing General Zod.

By clicking on this article, you waive all rights to be upset over the spoiler news Bleeding Cool is reporting will occur in the third season of Supergirl. And it's pretty big. Supergirl has been the first DC show from Greg Berlanti that actually used major characters from the DC Universe. The other shows have utilized lesser know characters but to great affect, giving those characters more exposure to casual audiences.
In season 2 of Supergirl, Superman appeared. While it turned out to be a guest appearance, the arrival of Superman on the show was well received by fans. Season 3 will see the appearance of one of Superman's most notorious villains. That character?
General Zod.
That's right. Now kneel.
Played by Terence Stamp in the first two Superman movies and Michael Shannon in Man of Steel, General Zod is second only to Lex Luthor in the eyes of casual fans...

According to VancouverFilm.Net, actor Mark Gibbon ("The Chronicles Of Riddick") portrays 'Kryptonian' super-villain 'General Zod' in the season finale of The CW's "Supergirl":
Zod was previously played by Terrence Stamp in the features "Superman" and "Superman II", Michael Shannon in "Man of Steel" and Callum Blue in the TV series "Smallville".
The character 'Dru-Zod' created by Robert Bernstein and George Papp, debuted in DC's "Adventure Comics" #283 (April 1961), as a warlord from 'Krypton', home planet of 'Superman'.

Much like some of its other DC TV brethren, Supergirl‘s season finale will be here before you know it. And, if recent reports are to be believed, The CW has one hell of a surprise in store for us.
You see, according to Bleeding Cool, actor Mark Gibbon was recently spotted on set inhabiting the role of none other than General Zod. The outlet expects an official announcement to swiftly follow, which should happen if this proves true because, let’s not forget, official synopses for episodes tend to find their way online three weeks prior to airing. Odds are the episode in question is the season finale, currently slated to air on Monday, May 22, so we should know for certain before long.
This bit of information doesn’t seem like a leap in the slightest, especially when you factor in the knowledge that Tyler Hoechlin is set to...

1971’s Duel revved the engines of cinematic road-ragers everywhere and put many a vicious vehicle on the old highway to hell. What horror fan doesn’t love The Car, Christine, and Death Proof?
Those are classics. But what sets the Joy Ride film franchise apart from the rest is that it’s more about the diabolical driver and less about the terrifying truck. Which is not to say the big rig isn’t badass in its own right, but let’s face it: The 18-wheeler isn’t nearly as fun to chat with as actor and stuntman Ken Kirzinger.
Dread Central: Were you familiar with the Rusty Nail character before stepping into the role?
Ken Kirzinger: I auditioned for Rusty in Joy Ride 2 but didn’t get the part. Instead it went to a good friend, Mark Gibbon, who I ended up stunt doubling for in the movie. So yes,...

At the end of Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring I remember being awestruck for two reasons. One it was a cinematic experience to behold and I had just beheld it; it was refreshing and exhilarating. The second feeling was a pang of instantaneous remorse when the first name sprawled across the scene for the end credits.
“That’s it?! What?! No! More!”
I had just sat through a 3 hour film which had left me wanting more. I was not and am not an avid Tolkien fan and even resented the man slightly going in to the film. By the end, Peter Jackson had made us amiable acquaintances. That’s what a good film does, it draws you in to a new world, makes you feel and then spits you back out with little pieces of it still attached to your mind. Keep that in mind: I...
