- Jaroslav "Jerry" Gebr established himself in Hollywood, as an illustrator, sketch artist, portrait painter, and scenic artist joining the Scenic Artist IATSE #816 union. His 50 year career began at Twentieth Century Fox Studios, followed with employment at MGM Studios. He became head of the Universal MCA Film/Television Studios' Scenic Art Department, supervising for thirty years prior to his "forced retirement" when the studio closed various departments in the 2000's. Jerry joined The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1984. Jerry was born May 26, 1926. He maintained his home artist studio in Tarzana, California, where he free-lanced usually painting portraits and continuity storyboards for feature films and television production presentation projects. While at Universal Studios, Jerry's exceptional paintings were used in the pilot episode of Rod Serling's "The Night Gallery". From 1985, Gebr's talent was required weekly on the Angela Lansbury "Murder, She Wrote" series and the MSW Movie of the Week mini series, as well as for the Peter Falk "Columbo" Movie of the Week projects.
