- On February 27, 2010, at around 2:00 pm, Galkin was found dead in his Moscow apartment on Sadovaya-Spasskaya Street. The day before, his father Boris Galkin scored the alarm, telling a family friend that Vladislav was not in touch for more than a day. Friends arrived at his apartment, but no one answered the calls at the door. The called brigade of rescuers opened the apartment door at 14:07 and found him dead. He was 39. According to different data, the body was found in bed or on the floor, he was lying face down. At the initial external examination of the body, no signs of violent death were found. The examination showed that he died about two or three days before the discovery of the body, and acute heart failure with cardiac arrest was named the cause of death. The death certificate states "cardiomyopathy (sudden cardiac arrest)" as the cause.
- On January 11, 2010, he was hospitalized with exacerbated inflammation of the pancreas and spent two weeks in the hospital. Earlier, he was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis.
- Galkin was buried on March 2, 2010 on the avenue of actors of the Troekurovsky cemetery of Moscow. A narrow circle of friends and relatives attended the funeral.
- Was separated from his fourth wife of 11 years, Darya Mikhaylova, at the time of his sudden death. Their divorce hearing was set for March 10, 2010, but he died on February 25th.
- Had no his own children, but he raised one step-daughter, Vasilisa Sukhanova (b. November 25, 1988), who was 9 when he married her mother Darya Mikhaylova.
