He is currently working on his own jazz album and the sophomore CD for Sasha Lazard.
As an emerging filmmaker, his expertise is in music-driven projects and multi-platform entertainment. His first short film, Jungle Jazz: Public Enemy #1, won the prestigious Silver Bear Award for Best Short Film at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film also received top prizes at festivals in Brazil and Australia and has played to over 15 countries with critical acclaim. Continuing his award-winning Jungle Cinema series, Fitzpatrick recently completed the animated short film The Rebel Angel. The Rebel Angel is an anime-inspired adventure, featuring original recordings with the National Symphony of Venezuela, Trance-Opera Diva Sasha Lazard, DJ Spooky, Delirium, DJ Styles (Delinquent Habits) and Grammy Award Winner Andy Vargas (Santana). Two of the songs from the film have already made their mark on the Billboard Dance Charts.
Fitzpatrick has committed himself to giving back to the community and raising social consciousness through music and entertainment. Some of his current initiatives include arts education (he is donating the proceeds from his upcoming jazz album) and AIDS awareness for teens (he wrote and produced the title song for the film Reflections). Reflections, directed by Gina Prince-Blythewood (Love and Basketball), will air on BET and in high schools across America as part of an AIDS education and outreach program.
Prior to his record & film career, Detroit-born Fitzpatrick produced live shows for the likes of Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Ray Charles and Prince, produced jazz and arts educational programs, performed in bands and hosted his own radio show.
