Here is a wrap up of all the news you need to know from Thursday, May 7, 2020.
NBC's The Blacklist has a new series regular for Season 8.
The hit drama has promoted Laura Sohn, who recurs as FBI Agent Alina Park.
TV Line first reported the news.
Sohn arrived on The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 7, and took over the job left by the exit of Mozhan Marno's Samar.
Alina quickly became a fan-favorite, and we're sure she will continue to make a big impact on Season 8.
The series was forced to shut down due to the Coronavirus pandemic, with multiple episodes unproduced.
In order to bring the season to a close, the episode will feature a mix of live-action and animated scenes.
Yes, really.
It will certainly make for a different kind of finale.
Meanwhile, Apple TV+ drama Defending Jacob is set to introduce a key recurring player this week in J.K. Simmons.

Were the quake that shook up Hollywood late Sunday one of the literal rather than figurative variety, it would have measured at least a 7.0 on the Richter scale — it was that massive. Even now, days after the news broke that Shonda Rhimes was leaving her longtime home at ABC for the land of deep pockets and creative freedom known as Netflix, the television capitol is reeling from the aftershocks.
But, while insiders rushed to assess the long-term damage that the small-screen bigwig’s defection would inflict upon the embattled broadcast biz, Joe and Jane TV Fan were busy worrying about...

Scandal, Season 4, Episode 4, “Like Father, Like Daughter”
Written by Mark Fish
Directed by Paul McCrane
Airs Thursdays at 9pm Est on ABC
On this week’s Scandal, Olivia helps cover up the president’s daughter’s scandal, Jake fails to take down Ronan, and Fitz discovers who killed his son.
Finally, all of the cast members are slowly being brought back together onscreen after a brief three-episode split. The first three episodes of this season were good, but they were still a little lacking, namely because everyone had gone their separate directions. “Like Father, Like Daughter” brings everyone under the same roof–though not yet back together–and the episode is stronger for it’s effort, if not for its overall execution.
For instance, there still doesn’t seem to be any indication where this season is headed. The only consistent storyline thus far is with Jake, Ronan, and B...

Scandal, Season 3, Episode 4, “Say Hello to My Little Friend”
Written by Mark Fish
Directed by Oliver Bokelberg
Airs Thursdays at 10pm Est on ABC
Scandal may be three years into its run, but viewers are finally starting to catch on and it’s easy to see why. After picking up speed in season two, the episodes this year have kicked into high gear, exploring Olivia in greater detail and depth thanks to the revelation of her complicated, to say the very least, relationship with her father. There’s plenty more going on, but it’s this arc in particular that has elevated the season so far and it’s no surprise that this holds true again in “Say Hello to My Little Friend”.
Gladiators hoping to see more of Scott Foley’s Jake Ballard this week are likely to be disappointed, but while less of the episode centers on his...

"Follow the money." Whistleblower Deep Throat suggested that tack to Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein to do just that in the 1976 film All the President's Men, based on the Watergate scandal that eventually took down Richard Nixon. The same applies to the twisted Ponzi scheme enacted by financier Louis Tobin this season on Damages but Tobin has hidden his money trail rather cleverly. So well in fact that rottweiler attorney Patty Hewes and her crack team of investigators are no closer to uncovering his fortune's whereabouts than they were when the season began, a fact that leaves Patty's position as the court-appointed trustee in the case in serious jeopardy. This week's episode of Damages ("Don't Forget to Thank Mr. Zedeck"), written by Aaron Zelman and Mark Fish and directed by Timothy Busfield, may have lacked the jaw-dropping plot twists of last week's stunning episode but that doesn't mean that we...
