Ever since setting up my RSS feeds in Google's Reader my life has changed in ways unimaginable. I used to have this crummy RSS Firefox add-on that worked, but oh man it is nothing compared to the Goog's. Case and point would be the fact that I probably never would have seen Gawker's interview with Joss Whedon ("Firefly", "Buffy", Serenity) had it not been for the almighty Reader and this one kicks all kinds of ass. Joss Whedon news is typically like posting news on Harry Potter or, now, Twilight, meaning if you get something juicy and original the Browncoats will come flocking and this Gawker interview is a great example. While this may not be the ultimate interview in terms of bringing information it is one great read, which is what interviews should be, not endless streams of "Hey, what about Serenity 2?" questions. Anticipation for The Dark Knight is on serious overload. Everyone is pumped and ready for Batman's return to the big screen and Warner Premiere is trying to satiate that anticipation with something similar to what was done with The Animatrix with Batman Gotham Knight, a series of six animated stories that begin where the one before it ends. The details boast "acclaimed directors", writers such as David Goyer (Batman Begins, Blade) and Josh Olson (A History of Violence) as well as a PG-13 rating as if that is really saying anything. Before I go much further, I should say I have never seen Batman The Animated Series, and when it comes to animation I am more of a Disney/Pixar/DreamWorks kind of a person - you know, mainstream. I will say that Hayao Miyazaki is a lot of fun to watch and I even enjoyed Appleseed Ex Machina,

I’ve been hearing about this weird project for a long while now; it’s a series of 10-minute “webisodes” done specifically for viewing on your computer by various talented people in Hollywood, one of them being Joss Whedon.
His short film is called “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” and tells of a low-rent super villain (Neil Patrick Harris) who keeps getting beat up by a superhero (Nathan Fillion) and can’t talk to the cute girl next door. How cute. Whatever, though; it’s Joss so I shall follow like the sheep I am!
