An impressive array of more than 50 Canadian recording artists have pooled their talents for a new single to promote an excellent cause.

Produced by legendary Canadian music producer Bob Ezrin, and executive produced by Randy Lennox (Loft Entertainment) and Carrie Mudd (Peacock Alley Entertainment), the anthem “What I Wouldn’t Do (North Star Calling)” weaves Serena Ryder’s inspiring message and profound lyrics from her song “What I Wouldn’t Do” with Leela Gilday’s sonically beautiful bridge from “North Star Calling”.

The single, released on March 2, kicks off Kids Help Phone‘s new initiative to help Canadian youth “feel out loud” and express their emotions in a safe and supported way, anchored by a fundraising goal of $300 million to reach every young person in Canada by 2024 by expanding access to Kids Help Phone’s e-mental health services.

Drake brought a special guest out to kick off the 2022 Ovo Fest in the early hours of July 29, surprising fans when he invited fellow Canadian artist Nelly Furtado on stage. The pair even sang Furtado's hit "I'm Like a Bird" together, immortalized in a clip she shared on Instagram and captioned, "Homie pigeons."

Drake also celebrated the collaboration on Instagram, sharing photos of himself and Furtado on stage. He captioned the photos with lyrics from "I'm Like a Bird," writing, "And though my love is rare / And though my love is trueeeeee."

At the event, he introduced Furtado by amping up the crowd, saying, "I don't care how loud you sang tonight, right now I need you to sing as loud as you possibly can, because this right here took a lot." He also added that the singer "changed my life so much.

The world let out a big sigh last night when Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber appeared on stage together last night at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada. However, unlike their big smooch at the 2011 Billboard Awards, the couple toned down their Pda and shook hands while Bieber teased to Selena,“Nice to meet you. You’re very beautiful. Maybe we can go out some time.” Beiber kept up the joke, later tweeting, “and to that young lady @selenagomez - great job and it was a pleasure meeting u.”

Hollywoodnews.com: Though most of the eyes were on Lady Gaga at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Canada Sunday night, international superstar (and Toronto native) Justin Bieber did manage to wrestle the spotlight away from the “Born This Way” sensation to claim two trophies of his own.

Bieber won International Video Of The Year By A Canadian for “Somebody To Love” featuring Usher. He also took home the Ur Fave New Artist award for the remix version of “Somebody to Love (remix).”

And Bieber won the unofficial prize for best comedic line of the evening when he spoke to the show’s co-host, Selena Gomez, staing, “Nice to meet you. You’re very beautiful. Maybe we can go out sometime.”

Bieber wasn't promoted as one of the evening's celebrity guests, but the 17-year-old teen-pop titan from Stratford, Ont., seemingly couldn't resist coming out to support his girlfriend Selena Gomez, the Disney-reared star who hosted the outdoor bash.

Lady GaGa and Justin Bieber were big winners at the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards, which took place on June 19 in Toronto, Canada, by sweeping the most prizes. Previously winning one each at the beginning of the televised show, GaGa and Bieber added another trophy near the end of the event.

Drake has led 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards nominations. The "Best I Ever Had" singer landed in seven categories, including MuchVIBE Hip-Hop Video and Cinematography of the Year for "Successful", which features Trey Songz, and International Video of the Year By a Canadian for "Forever", which features Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem.

Following Drake in the second spot of landing the most nods was Vancouver pop-rocker Hedley, led by "Canadian Idol" contestant Jacob Hoggard, who was nominated for six categories. The group were nominated for Video of the Year, Post Production of the Year, Cinematography of the Year, Pop Video of the Year, Ur Fave Video and Director of the Year.

Additionally, pop sensation Justin Bieber scored four nominations at the upcoming event. The 16-year-old singer landed in International Video of the Year By a Canadian category for "One Time" and "Baby", Ur Fave Video and Ur Fave New Artist categories.

Bet Awards is not the only prize-giving event which announced nominations this week as Canadian MuchMusic Video Awards has also uncovered musicians vying for its coveted trophies. Drake receives seven nominations, while Justin Bieber makes his entrance onto the list with four nods.

The 23-year-old rapper and the 16-year-old pop singer will compete against each other in Ur Fave New Artist, Ur Fave Video and International Video of the Year by a Canadian. In the latest category, both of them get double nominations. Drake is listed for "Over" and star-studded "Forever", while Justin is on the battle for "One Time" and "Baby".
