- Frequently writes songs about women. Dated and lived with Casey Niccoli for nearly ten years. She was the inspiration for many classic Jane's Addiction songs (including "Classic Girl" and "Been Caught Stealing"). The song "Three Days" was about the last weekend the couple spent with another girl (and lover) called Xiola Bleu, who later died of a heroin overdose. The song "Then She Did..." is about Xiola and his late mother.

- Has recorded 20 songs for the new Jane's Addiction album, to be titled 'Strays' in Los Angeles with producer Bob Ezrin. The band currently includes original members Farrell, Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins, as well as bassist Chris Chaney, who replaces original member Eric Avery. A full-scale world tour and headlining gig at Lollapalooza 2003 will follow the album's release. (February 2003)
- Jane's Addiction reunited again at the first-ever NME Awards USA, with the classic original lineup. This was the first performance with original bassist Eric Avery in over 15 years. (April 2008)
- Designed and made all the cover art for all of Jane's Addiction's albums.
