Showtime for the last time. Pro wrestling fans said farewell to “The Icon” at All Elite Wrestling’s Revolution on March 3. More than 16,000 strong inside the historic Greensboro Coliseum and a worldwide audience witnessed Sting’s curtain call. The dynamic legend in paint called it a career after almost 40 years in a venue where he fought so many historic battles. Perhaps most famous is the 45-minute draw he had against Ric Flair in 1988 at the Clash of the Champions on TBS that jumpstarted an illustrious run. This time Sting, real name Steve Borden, stepped into the ring one final time teaming up with longtime partner Darby Allin. They successfully defended the Aew world tag team titles against EVP’s Nicholas and Matthew Jackson, The Young Bucks in their Succession era. Ringside saw many dignitaries from Sting’s past there for support including Flair, Lex Luger, Magnum Ta, Scotty Riggs, Nikita Koloff,...

High Heat stars Olga Kuryleno as an ex-Kgb agent-turned-chef Ana and Don Johnson as her restauranteur husband, who owes a massive gambling debt to the local mafia that he can’t pay back. When the mob comes knocking, they don’t reckon on having to tangle with a highly-trained former Russian operative. It’s True Lies meets Boiling Point, as the veritable buffet of bloodshed, bullets and blistering fight scenes plays out as the tension builds.
Let’s get this out of the way first… The fully animated opening credits makes High Heat look like a Hitchcockian wannabe, or a “quirky” thriller a la Don Johnson’s recent star turn in Knives Out. However, the plot...

"They're coming for you." Saban Films have revealed an official trailer for High Heat, the action comedy arriving to watch in December this year. If anyone is interested. This is another of these direct-to-vod junk films that they're dropping endlessly nowadays. The film hasn't shown up anywhere and is releasing without much pomp next month - it does look fun. When the local mafia shows up to burn down her restaurant, Ana, a chef with a meticulous past as an ex-Kgb agent, defends her turf and proves her knife skills both in and out of the kitchen. High Eat stars Olga Kurylenko, Dallas Page, Don Johnson, Kaitlin Doubleday, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Erik Bloomquist. This kind of seems like a fun twist on John Wick, but what if he was a she, and she was a chef instead? Might be a harmless watch if you dig this cast and humor.

This post contains spoilers for "Black Adam."
Following their careers in the squared circle, many professional wrestlers make the jump to acting in Hollywood. From Andre the Giant and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper starring in classics like "The Princess Bride" and "They Live" to Dave Bautista and John Cena being a part of the Marvel and DC universes respectively, wrestlers are scattered all over cinematic history. However, no one has achieved the same level of success in this arena as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Clearly, the former WWE Champion is in high demand. His life story is airing on NBC as a sitcom called "Young Rock," which is about to begin its third season. He's been a part of franchises like "G.I. Joe," "Jumanji," and "Fast & Furious." Johnson has even played demi-gods twice thanks to his roles in "Moana" and "Hercules." But in his latest role as the titular character of DC's "Black Adam,...

Hulk Hogan’s daughter, Brooke Hogan, showed off a stunning monokini as she let fans know about something she doesn’t particularly enjoy, and ironically it’s all the work that goes into making photoshoots happen.
With that, she posed in a sizzling black one-piece and black high heels strapped onto her feet, as she posed with her head arched back and one leg bent to place a foot on a chair.
The former TV star and wrestling personality kept one hand on her hip and the other holding her blonde locks as she leaned her head back for a provocative pose.
Along with the gorgeous photo, taken in a bare-bones room with white walls, she gave fans all the reasons she doesn’t like participating in photoshoots.

Rob Zombie's Firefly family returns for a real day of the dead in the 3 From Hell trailer.
Free the three! Now we can have a real day of the dead. Just when you thought there was no justice in this world, the first full-length 3 From Hell trailer promises a bloodbath and a devil of a time. The odds were a million to one against Capt. Spaulding (Sid Haig), Otis Firefly (Bill Moseley), and Vera-Ellen "Baby" Firefly (Sheri Moon Zombie) surviving their standoff with the police at their last rampage, but with a little faith, nothing is impossible.
3 From Hell is a family movie. The Firefly family has a deadly tradition going back to 2003, with Rob Zombie's directorial debut House of 1000 Corpses making way for the 2005 sequel The Devil's Rejects. Written and directed by Rob Zombie, the trilogy tells the story of Dr. Satan and his merry band of murderous misfits.

This time of year the WWE makes every effort they can to step up their performance. With Wrestlemania around the corner, they want to make sure as many eyes as possible are watching the Granddaddy of Them All. It’s also a time to reflect and honor the past as this is usually the time of year they start announcing the next WWE Hall of Fame class. Thanks to Bryan Alvarez from the Wrestling Observer, we may have some clue as to who will be a part of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017. Let’s discuss the picks now but remember, until they’re confirmed by the WWE, these choices are strictly rumor at this point.
Diamond Dallas Page
A deserving choice if there ever was one. Starting off as a manager, he worked his way up in his late 30’s to become a wrestler and eventual WCW World Champion.

When 2k first revealed WWE 2K17 back in May, there were no details confirmed about the game other than the fact that Goldberg would be available as a pre-order bonus. June came and they announced that a man who had only wrestled seven times in 2016 up to that point – Brock Lesnar – would be the cover star but still, there was no information about the actual game.
In July, we got a look at some roster reveals and downloadable content announcements, but yet again, gameplay information was nowhere to be seen. Alarm bells were ringing for sure by this point but finally, midway through August, the publisher decided to actually detail some of the things that fans could expect to see as they stepped into the digital squared circle in 2K’s fifth attempt at creating a must-have wrestling title.

In an industry that is populated by larger than life characters, and events that are often seen as outrageous or unbelievable, it’s quite the achievement for a wrestler to stand out from the crowd as being head and shoulders above the rest but Scott Hall, better known to WWE fans as Razor Ramon, is such a man. Though his on screen persona has always courted controversy, WWE’s latest release Living on a Razor’s Edge – The Scott Hall Story reveals that his real life has been even more incredible than that of the bad guy that he’s always portrayed in the ring.
As with its recent crop of excellent documentaries, the rise and fall and raise of Scott Hall is told with a shocking degree of candour, from the early years of his life where he shot a man dead in self-defence through his troubled tenure at...

Another year, another WrestleMania, and once again the WWE have put together their undeniably impressive Showcase of the Immortals, this year in Dallas, Texas.
Kicking off, as it did last year, with a seven man ladder match for the Intercontinental Title, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Sami Zayn, Stardust, Sin Cara and Zack Ryder put on a great match, delivering plenty of bumps and really setting the seeds for the ongoing Owens / Zayn feud now that both men are established on the main roster.
Next up was Aj Styles’s Mania debut against Chris Jericho, with both men giving their all but not quite creating the synergy that might be expected from two top performers. That said, Styles was impressive and will surely be a lot higher up the bill for Wm Xxxiii next year.

I’ve often said that I find the history WWE Blu-Ray releases the best, so when one was released celebrating the Us Championship I was obviously looking forward to it. Although we often see people like John Cena dominating the belt these days it has one of the more interesting histories of any of the belts. WWE – The Us Championship: A Legacy of Greatness reveals just how varied this history is.
The fact that WWE now has a huge library of footage from all kinds of wrestling federations from the past allows them to pull out some real gems. These include matches that aren’t even complete, and don’t feature commentary. This is the case of Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat with Andre the Giant as guest referee. Filmed in 1978 in Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling it is a nice addition for the history loving wrestling fan, especially those who love Andre.

The author H.P Lovecraft once said, “From even the greatest of horrors, irony is seldom absent”. In a stunning case of predicting one’s own future, the writer would ironically gain greater fame posthumously rather than during his life. Irony is also something the world of pro wrestling knows a little something about, too.
Without running the risk of being too hyperbolic, professional wrestlers put literally hundreds of hours into their craft. It’s not only the in-ring work that counts, and these men and women dedicate so much time to travel, sitting around arenas across the globe and earnestly honing their skills. When everything comes together, the rewards are plentiful, and can lead to serious wealth for those lucky enough to live out their dreams.
Unfortunately, there’s also a flip side to proceedings, and it’s decidedly harsh. One of the stories on this list...

Today, Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts looks healthy, coherent and happy. Just a few short years ago, that wasn’t the case and the man’s life was in pretty poor shape. The demons which have plagued Jake during his life have been well-documented, so it’s heartening to see the man getting his existence back in fine fettle.
Thanks to the help of Diamond Dallas Page and his closest friends, Roberts has turned the sinking ship into a more healthy vessel. The former WWF and WCW star also has pro wrestling fans to thank for getting things back together, but at the same time he can’t help but think back to a time when they pretty much cost him a lot of money.

You have to wonder sometimes if WWE’s talents are legitimate superheroes. When older fans look back on watching WWF in the 1980’s and are asked to name their favourites or which superstars they most remember, the stock answers are Hulk Hogan or the Ultimate Warrior, but they’ll often bring up Jake The Snake Roberts, too. The man who walked to the ring looking like a serial killer, hit arguably the best Ddt of all-time, and carried a bag with a python snake named Damien.
Sadly, over the last twenty years or so, those who grew up and continued to watch wrestling or somehow caught a glimpse of Jake via TMZ would feel sad at the tragic way his life turned out. Jake’s demons had gotten the best of him and he’d become a drug addict, couldn’t get a job with a major wrestling company and was known for his inappropriate behaviour at independent wrestling shows.

The Royal Rumble is full of more twists and turns than a rollercoaster designed by a toddler on a Spirograph. There’s only one way to start the Road To WrestleMania and that’s with an over-the-top-rope elimination match, which this year (for the second time in history) is for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Of course, just because the overarching storyline has changed, that doesn’t mean we won’t see the in-ring action that has become customary at this time of year. Shocking eliminations that come out of nowhere, WWE superstars return and clean house for a few minutes before setting up a feud for ‘Mania, the odd appearance of Santino who’ll be eliminated in record time, and the now traditional one-night-only entrants for a short sharp blast of good old-fashioned nostalgia.

Vince McMahon generally doesn’t like other people doing his work for him. Over the years, WWE may have opened up more to the rest of the pro wrestling world, but there was a time when they point blank refused to push anyone that they themselves didn’t ‘create’. Going as far back as the WCW ‘Invasion’, genuine stars such as Diamond Dallas Page were treated shoddily upon joining the company, simply because McMahon and his team weren’t the brains behind their characters.
This has long been a problem for WWE, and in the past the issue has extended to a truly archaic view of the independent wrestling scene. In the mind of the McMahon family, those who had been a success on the indies were not there to be heralded, they were to be ridiculed. That mindset made have irked some, but it was the prerogative...
