Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were married Saturday evening in an intimate ceremony, their spokesperson tells People exclusively. "We're delighted to confirm that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson were married this evening in front of family and close friends," said the spokesperson. Simpson, 23, wore an ivory lace wedding gown by Monique Lhuillier and jewels by William Noble as she and Wentz, 28, exchanged vows in front of 150 guests at her parents' Los Angeles area home. It's good to see fresh episodes of comedy – fresh episodes of anything – returning to the broadcast networks. (And for info on what'll happen in the next few weeks on "The Office," "30 Rock" and "Scrubs," go to the end of this item.)
“My Name Is Earl,” which comes back 7 p.m. Thursday on NBC, is celebrating with an hourlong episode called “I Won’t Die With a Little Help From My Friends.”
I’m generally inclined to give the show a pass – see the above statement regarding my happiness at comedy’s return. But I do wonder about what’s happened to “Earl” since it premiered.
“Earl’s” always been on the bawdy side and has frequently edged toward eyebrow-raising racial humor, but it seems as though it’s gotten more coarse and crass over its three seasons. I look back at delirious yet whimsical Season 1 episodes like “Joy’s

In April, dozens of scripted shows will return to the broadcast networks. Thank goodness! Though I've already posted details on the returns of "The Office" (here and here) "30 Rock," "Ugly Betty" and "House," I thought I'd collect all the information I have in one place.
First, here's a chronological list of return dates (to see the return dates sorted by network, go here).
Second, for those who want more than just return dates, I've got details on what will happen on many shows, in addition to the ones mentioned above, on the second half of this item.
If you don’t spot a favorite show on either list, by the way, be aware that some programs aren’t returning until fall, and the fate of several others has not been officially announced yet. There's more info on what's returning in the fall here.
