Ellen Page will tackle a true war story for her new film Lioness.
The actress has signed up to play Lance Corporal Leslie Martz, a Us marine who was sent to Iraq to gain the trust of the country's women, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Working as part of a Female Engagement Team, Martz had to strike up a bond with the women and get information from them about their husbands' roles within the Taliban.
She struggled with her mission due to the respect she developed for the women, while also attempting to hide her sexuality from her military superiors.
The indie drama is being developed by James Dahl, and has a script penned by Rosalind Ross. There is currently no director attached to the project.
