Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy is arguably the most significant for the web-slinger in live-action adaptations. It enjoyed considerable success, with each film grossing over $800 million worldwide. Raimi had ambitious plans for sequels, but ‘Spider-Man 3’ marked the end for both him and Tobey Maguire, who portrayed Spider-Man impeccably.
Unfortunately, ‘Spider-Man 3’ was widely considered the weakest of the franchise, a fact that Raimi regrets not being able to rectify. Despite the series concluding nearly two decades ago, it remains a topic of discussion, leading to the discovery of new insights into its production.
Dylan Baker is well-known for his role as Dr. Curt Connors, Peter Parker’s college professor, who played a crucial supporting role in ‘Spider-Man 3.’ In the film, Peter discovers the origin and nature of the symbiote. Back in 2007, director Sam Raimi showed interest in exploring Dr. Curt Connors’ transformation into the villainous character teased since ‘Spider-Man 2’ – The Lizard.

Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy is likely the most important for the web-slinger when it comes to live-action portrayals. It was a major success as each installment managed to gross over $800 million worldwide. It’s no secret that Raimi had plans for sequels, and many of them at that, but ‘Spider-Man 3′ marked the end for both Raimi and Maguire who embodied the role of Spider-Man so perfectly.
‘Spider-Man 3’ was by far the most weakest of the franchise, and Raimi is regretful he never managed to redeem this. The series is still talked about to this day which is why we’re learning some new tidbits about it close to 2 decades after the franchise concluded.
Dylan Baker famously played Dr. Curt Connors Peter Parker’s college professor, and he played a vital supporting role in ‘Spider-Man 3’ in which Peter figured out the origin and the nature of the symbiote.

Oscar Isaac Discusses His Big Year: ‘Having More Ownership of the Creative Gave Me More Energy Back’
Oscar Isaac likes to quote Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard: “Anxiety is the dizziness of freedom.” In the past two years, Isaac has learned this the hard way, pushing himself into ever riskier emotional terrain as an actor.
Ever since he broke out in 2013 with his first lead role as a sensitive finger-picking folk singer in the Coen brothers’ “Inside Llewyn Davis” (after supporting parts in “Sucker Punch” and “Drive”), he’s shown a remarkable range. From a dancing AI scientist in “Ex Machina” and Vegas loner in “The Card Counter” to heroic Poe Dameron in “Star Wars” and Duke Leto Atreides in “Dune,” he can seemingly do anything, as hero, villain, lover, gangster, or artist. Now he’s got his pick of film and TV projects, and his recent derring-do has landed him in Best Actor Emmy contention in not one but two Limited Series: Hagai Levi’s remake...

It’s not every day that one can write a sentence that reasonably connects the Fox animated series “Bob’s Burgers,” the House of Terror museum of fascist and communist regimes in Hungary, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe — but in 2022, anything is possible.
Let’s back up. Ever since the Marvel Studios series “Moon Knight” debuted on Disney+ on March 30, eagle-eyed viewers have noticed a series of semi-conspicuous Qr codes in the background of scenes in the first, second and fifth episodes of the show. Scanning the codes sends viewers to a special website that contains a weekly free web comic featuring the Moon Knight character through the run of the show, from his first appearance in 1975 through his most recent issue in 2019.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Moon Knight Season 1, Episode 6, “Gods and Monsters.”] At this point, Marvel fans know there will always be lingering questions at the end of any given MCU series, but its latest drama Moon Knight really left us hanging. In the mid-credits scene, we finally come face-to-face with the third personality in the Marc Spector/Steven Grant dissociative identity disorder triangle — Jake Lockley (Oscar Isaac). And, in perhaps the most exciting development, Marc’s wife Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy) is now a superhero as well — Marvel’s first Egyptian hero. And they can’t let that gorgeous Wonder Woman-esque costume go to waste, right? Below, we unpack our most lingering questions with director/executive producer Mohamed Diab and executive producer Grant Curtis. Why does Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) leave the scarab behind? Early on in Episode 6, Harrow leaves the scarab on Marc’s dead body before departing with Ammit (voiced by Saba Mubarak). Sure,...

Those who tuned into the latest Marvel Disney+ series “Moon Knight” were largely surprised to discover that the Oscar Isaac-led show was not only devoid of cameos from other Marvel Cinematic Universe characters, it barely even mentioned events that happened in other films and shows.
This wasn’t a complaint per se, but the Disney+ Marvel shows the preceded “Moon Knight” – “WandaVision,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” “Loki,” “What If…?” and “Hawkeye” – all featured characters who already existed in the MCU and had plot points that connected to events that were occurring or had already occurred in the increasingly complicated MCU timeline.
“Moon Knight,” however, was a six-episode deep-dive into the psyche of Isaac’s Marc Spector, a man suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder who has also sworn an oath to an ancient Egyptian god that gives him superpowers.

What’s next after the six-episode first season of the Marvel Disney+ series “Moon Knight?” Well if you ask executive producer and director Mohamed Diab, it’s taking Oscar Isaac’s new MCU character to the big screen.
While Diab – who directed four of the “Moon Knight” episodes and helped steer the creative direction of the series as an executive producer – warns Marvel has kept him in the dark about future plans, he told TheWrap during a recent interview that if he had his druthers, he’d direct a “Moon Knight” movie next.
“If you ask me, I would love to have the chance to make Moon Knight into a film,” Diab said. “Maybe join someone from the Marvel Universe so it’s like partnering up with someone else or being a part of another journey.”
Diab added that he’d like to further explore the personality of Jake Lockley...

Warning: the following piece contains spoilers about the season one finale of Disney+/Marvel’s Moon Knight
As Disney+/Marvel series wrap their first seasons, typically there’s some form of news of either a spin-off series or season 2 being firmed up, i.e. Loki made it known immediately we’d be getting a season 2 in its final S1 episode, and it was announced shortly after WandaVision ended that Agatha would be the follow-up.
Last night during the epilogue of the Oscar Isaac series Moon Knight, it appeared, indeed we’d see more of the superhero who’s battling a dissociative identity disorder as we learned about his new, third personality, the underworld limo driver Jake Lockley. It’s Jake who wheels cult leader and former Ammit avatar Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) out of an asylum and shoots him in the head in the back of a Rolls Royce.

“Moon Knight” has taken off with critics and superhero fans around the globe, raking in enormous numbers for Disney+ and Marvel Studios. As a result, the two studios are gearing up for a hardy Emmys campaign with the show in the limited series categories, especially following the success of “WandaVision,” which co-led the tally for all series with 23 nominations (winning three) last year. However, a tweet shared from Marvel Studios’ official Twitter account could throw a potential wrench in their campaign.
Created by Jeremy Slater, the entire promotional tour for “Moon Knight” had the two major studios referring to the show as a “limited series,” with the presumption this would be a standalone television outing for the Marvel Comics character. However, on Monday, Marvel’s official Twitter page shared the trailer for today’s final episode, referring to it as “the epic series finale,” but the tweet was taken down...

Viewers of Marvel’s Moon Knight may have noticed that episode 3 was dedicated to the memory of French actor Gaspard Ulliel, who plays black market antiquities collector Anton Mogart in the episode. He ends up clashing with Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy) and Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac) – the latter in and out of the Moon Knight suit — over a sarcophagus containing the next clue to the whereabouts of Ammit’s tomb.
Ulliel, who made his feature film debut in 2001’s The Brotherhood of the Wolf but was perhaps best known to American audiences as a young Hannibal Lecter in the 2007 film Hannibal Rising, was tragically killed at the age of 37 on January 18, 2022 in a skiing accident in Savoie, France.
Ulliel was not as well known on this side of the Atlantic outside of his lead role in the Hannibal Lecter origin story. His work as the still-forming Hannibal was given favorable...

With the premiere of Marvel’s Moon Knight on Disney+, fans will at last get a chance to see the first live-action iteration of a Marvel Comics character who has long had his own cult following in print.
The six-episode limited series stars Oscar Isaac as unassuming, lonely, nebbishy museum gift shop employee Steven Grant, who lives by himself in a dark London apartment and has the odd habit of chaining himself to his bed because he apparently likes to go on walkabouts in his sleep.
But as we soon find out, Steven shares his body with at least one other persona entirely — Marc Spector, an American mercenary and assassin who was at one point near death and was revived by Khonshu, an ancient Egyptian moon god who uses Spector’s body and considerable skills to enact justice on those who would do evil in the world.

Ethan Hawke has revealed that he looked to real-life titans to craft his portrayal of “Moon Knight” villain Arthur Harrow, a zealot associated with the god Ammit on a righteous mission that turns murderous.
“For me, it was like putting Jimmy Swaggart, Leo Tolstoy, [Fidel] Castro, the Dalai Lama, and Josef Mengele into a blender,” Hawke told USA Today of playing a charismatic cult leader with devious intentions. “That was the fun of it: What if Steve Jobs was a bad guy?”
Of course, the conflicting sides of multiple alter egos is the crux of “Moon Knight,” which stars Oscar Isaac in the title role as a military veteran battling mental illness who receives the powers of the ancient Egyptian god Khonshu. Isaac plays Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and Moon Knight — all variations living within the same man who “meet” one another. The six-episode series premieres March 30 on Disney+.

Director Sam Raimi, James Franco, Michelle Williams, and Mila Kunis were all in attendance on February 27th at the Oktyabr Multiplex in Moscow. At this point, I'm still not sure about Oz: The Great and Powerful. On the one hand, I love Sam Raimi. On the other though, I find the actual idea of doing a Wizard of Oz prequel about the Actual wizard of Oz a little silly. That said, the marketing material so far has been pretty great, with a really dazzling teaser poster that came out a few months ago. And now there's another poster for the film—this time focusing on the Wicked Witch of the West.
Here's the full size poster, courtesy of Disney:
The film seems to be aiming for an Alice in Wonderland like motif, at least with the initial marketing. And since that film grossed a billion dollars worldwide, I guess I can't really blame them. Still...I hope this film is nothing like that one. I like Raimi, I really do. But Alice in Wonderland was a terrible movie,...

Walt Disney studios premiered the first trailer for Oz, The Great and Powerful for thousands of fans in Hall H today, and we have it up on the site now for you to enjoy. Sam Raimi directed the film that stars James Franco as Oz, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, and Zach Braff.
The film looks visually stunning and features a beautiful new world and vision of Oz. It will not feature characters that fans have grown to love in The Wizard of Oz because it's a prequel to that story, but it looks like it will have so much wonderful eye candy to entertain everyone.
This trailer has me very excited to see more. Do you think that fans of the classic 1939 film will fall in love with Raimi's vision?
