- In November of 1971 while on a plane coming back from Monte Carlo, a flight attendant spills a tray of hot tea on her lap. She is badly scalded on her stomach and thighs. She is taken off the plane on a stretcher.
- A report in 1977 implied that she had retired from acting and was busy finding homes for stray dogs. It was reported she had found homes for as many as 100 dogs.
- Her second husband Rober Sweeny was a Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force during World War II. He was the founder of Eagle Squadron and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

- She initially married her first husband (Joseph Wade, Jr.) secretly in a civil ceremony in Delaware. They had a religious ceremony performed later in New York.
- February 1956, she turned down a part in "Mr. Wonderful".
- From around late 1952 to 1954 she and Wade were separated and/or estranged a few times.
- Boarded at the prestigious Greenwood School in Ruxton, Maryland.
