Production has got underway on Irish producer Morgan O'Sullivan's E30m TV series 'Vikings' at Ashford Studios in Ballyhenry, Co Wicklow, with Gabriel Byrne (The Usual Suspects) and Travis Fimmel (Tarzan) among the lead cast. Swedish director Johan Renck will helm the first three episodes with Ireland's Ciaran Donnelly (The Tudors) and Ken Girotti (Rescue Me) also attached. Bosnian war drama As If I Am Not There received three Ifta awards for Best Film, Director and Script for the film's Irish writer/director Juanita Wilson at tonight's Ifta awards, celebrating the Irish film and television industry.
Martin MCCann was named Best Actor for 'Swansong - Story of Occi Byrn', while Amy Huberman was got Best Actress for 'Rewind.'

Production gets underway next week at Ireland's Ardmore Studios on the historical television drama series 'Camelot'. Worth an estimated $32million to the Irish industry, the ten part series will film in Ireland for 22 weeks. Irish director Ciaran Donnelly takes the helm for the first two episodes and will be followed by Canadian director Jeremy Podeswa - both directors worked on 'The Tudors' with Donnelly winning an Ifta for his efforts in 2009. Plus, for the first time some of the other actors on NBC's laffer were recognized. Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer and Tracy Morgan all picked up supporting nominations.

The Tudors reigned supreme at the fifth annual Irish Film & Television Awards in Dublin on Sunday night, walking away with seven IFTAs, the most any single TV or film title has gained in the award's five-year history.
The Showtime series about the life of King Henry VIII, won the best drama series/soap award, while actors Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Maria Doyle Kennedy and Nick Dunning also won IFTA statues.
"Tudors" costume designer Joan Bergin, production designer Tom Conroy and hair and makeup team Jennifer Hegarty and Dee Corcoran also were winners on the night.
On the feature film side, a strongly contested race saw "Kings" and "Garage" emerge as the top winners, with five and four awards, respectively.
Irish-language drama "Kings" dominated the craft categories, taking nods for original score, sound and editing, among others, while "Garage" picked up the IFTAs for best film, director (Lenny Abrahamson), script (Mark O'Halloran) and actor in a lead role (Pat Shortt).
Writer/director team O'Halloran and Abrahamson also earned the top writing and directing kudos on the TV side for their urban drama series "Prosperity". Irish-language series "The Running Mate" took the best single drama award.
Mel Gibson was presented with the Outstanding Contribution to World Cinema Award and received a standing ovation.
