Italian librettist and scholar, he was born around 1730, possibly in
Poirino, near Turin, Italy. He was appointed principal librettist in
the Teatro Regio, Turin, in 1754, a post he was to keep for nearly 30
years. In 1777 he was nominated a 'poeta della società' of the
Cavalieri. He died sometime after 1795.
