- Fu Qi entered Great Wall Movie Enterprises in 1952. He played the leading role pairing off with Shi Hui (presently his wife) in his debut performance "Honeymoon". Later he starred in over 50 films for Great Wall Movie Enterprises and Feng Huang Motion Picture Co. These film included "Merry-Go-Round", "Tales of the City", "Loves of the Youngsters", "Sunrise", "When You Were Not With Me", "Romance Across the Window", "A Gentleman Who Steals", etc. In 1954, he concurrently served as an assistant director in "Never Leave Me". Then he became a scriptwriter and director since 1958 and had directed feature films "The Tigers", "The Jade Bow", "Rebirth of a Deaf Mute" and documentary "The 3rd China National Games". Starting from 1978, he turned to take up administration position as managing director of the Great Wall Movie Enterprises and general manager of Sil-Metropole Organisation in 1982. He also served as planner for "The Shaolin Temple" and producer for "Gangs". Currently both Fu Qi and Shi Hui live in Canada.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Lim
