New Delhi, Dec 21 (Ians) Sudeva Delhi Fc will go up against Mohammedan Sporting in their Hero I-League 2022-23 fixture at the Chhatrasal Stadium on Thursday.
The hosts have had a torrid start to the season, suffering seven straight losses since the opening day, and are yet to add a point to their tally ahead of their last match before the winter break. However, all hope is not lost for the side as they seek a win that would breathe new life into their campaign. Additionally, winning three points on Thursday could put Sudeva only four points behind the teams immediately above them, that too with the home side having an extra game in hand.
Mohammedan Sporting, last Friday, parted ways with head coach Andrey Chernyshov and on the same evening, recorded an impressive 1-0 win at home against Real Kashmir to end a run of three games without a win.

Panchkula, Nov 20 (Ians) RoundGlass Punjab Fc (Rgpfc) overcame Kolkata giants Mohammedan Sporting 1-0, courtesy a Luka Majcen strike, to register their second consecutive win in as many matches in the 16th Hero I-League here on Sunday.
Playing at home at the Tau Devi Lal stadium, Rgpfc struck as early as the third minute of the game to inflict a second loss on the visitors.
Rgpfc gaffer Staikos Vergetis made his intentions clear when he started with a three-man back-line while Mohammedan coach Andrey Chernyshov went in with a regulation 4-4-2 formation. The high-press tactics of Rgpfc worked perfectly as even though the visitors enjoyed the lion’s share of possession throughout the game, they found it hard to get enough space or openings to create any gilt-edged chances.
The home-team went ahead just three minutes into the match, when a loose ball fell to Samuel Lalmuanpuia just outside the Mohammedan box.

New Delhi, Nov 11 (Ians) In a repeat of last season’s title decider, Gokulam Kerala Fc will take on Mohammedan Sc in the I-League 2022-23 opener at the Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri on Saturday.
The title race went down the wire last season with the Malabarians edging out the Black and White Brigade 2-1 at the Vybk in Kolkata on the final day to lift their second consecutive I-League trophy.
It will be a different environment this time around as the league returns to its traditional home-and-away format. Gokulam Kerala can expect a capacity crowd in Manjeri to cheer them on as they begin their quest for an extraordinary third straight Hero I-League crown.
“It will be nice for the players to finally play in front of the fans after two seasons. The players and staff have been eagerly waiting for tomorrow’s game,” said Richard Towa, Gokulam Kerala’s new head coach.

Kolkata, Sep 13 (Ians) The Des Buckingham-coached Indian Super League (Isl) side Mumbai City Fc (McFc) face up to the challenge of local favourites Mohammedan Sporting (Mdsp) in the first semifinal of the 131st IndianOil Durand Cup at Kolkata’s Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Vybk) on Wednesday.
On paper, the Islanders might be having the slight edge going into the big game on Wednesday, given the sheer menacing nature of their attacking game and the quality and experience of the overall squad.
But if the Islanders have scored 18 times in the tournament so far, the highest among all 20 teams, the Black & White brigade have been no slouch having scored a dozen times themselves. They have looked very well organized and settled under Russian coach Andrey Chernyshov, letting in just two in their campaign to the Islanders 10. Mdsp also gave fellow semifinalists Bengaluru Fc a run for their money in a...

Kolkata, Sep 9 (Ians) Kolkata giants Mohammedan Sporting (Mdsp) overwhelmed a young and talented Kerala Blasters (Kbfc) 3-0, in the first quarterfinal to become the first team to make the semifinals of the 131st IndianOil Durand Cup at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Vybk), here on Friday.
A brace from debutant Nigerian Abiola Dauda and a first-half strike by Sk. Faiaz ensured a smooth ride to the last four for the Black and White brigade.
Mdsp, despite missing out on key players like Faslu and Abhishek Halder due to injuries and suspension, were on the front foot from the outset and it seemed like a matter of time before they scored. Marcus Joseph himself missed a couple of headers before setting up the opener.
Credit should go to Azharuddin Malik for holding onto the ball in the middle of the Blasters’ half and then playing back to Safiul who played forward to Abhash Thapa.
