There’s an infamous anecdote about a scientist who was presenting a lecture on how earth and other celestial bodies orbit around larger bodies. When he finished the lecture, an old lady supposedly stood up and claimed that the scientist was wrong because the world wasn’t floating in outer space but was in fact supported on the back of a giant turtle. When asked what was supporting the turtle, the old lady replied: “it’s turtles all the way down.”
While this story is often used to explain the concept of an infinite regress, it’s also a great example of how the simulation hypothesis – the idea that the universe as we know it is a kind of virtual reality – is actually much older than the modern concept of computers.

Val Lewton's Cat People first clawed onto the screen way back in 1942. Since then it has had several incarnations, it got a sequel in 1944 and was remade by Paul Shrader in 1982. The original was even selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. Now Universal Home Entertainment feels it's time to remake the classic once again.
The film will be produced by Aaron Ryder (Momento, Donnie Dark, Wrong Turn) and was penned by Ravel Centeno-Rodriguez with a re-write from Todd Stein. I kind of enjoyed the 1982 version, I've yet to see the original or sequel. This is going to be a direct-to-video release as it's mentioned "Universal Home Entertainment", are you sick and tired of the big studios jsut trying to cash in anyway they can?
Plot:
The story follows the last two surviving "cat people" in the world who have been busy feasting off the male population in Miami.
