#60. Take This Waltz - Sarah Polley We got all excited when we saw a whole bunch of stills from the Afm, but will Take This Waltz be ready in time for Park City? Wishful thinking perhaps, but Polley has a strong Sundance connection, as an actress, former juror and director - she did show Away From Her. If ready in time, fest programmers would have rolled out the equivalent to a red carpet a while time back especially with Seth Rogen, Michelle Williams, Sarah Silverman and Luke Kirby in the line-up. If invited, this would take up inventory space in the Premieres section and stir up a strong bidding war. Sarah Polley came to Sundance to promote the thriller Splice. Michelle Williams was there to launch Blue Valentine. But now they’ve got a reason to get together this summer. I've learned that Polley has secured the financing to direct her script Take This Waltz. Williams will star with Seth Rogen in the romantic triangle. The script made the most recent Black List of 2009's best unproduced screenplays. Polley will set another actor shortly to round out the cast. The producer is Susan Cavan. For the fourth consecutive year Hollywood has selected its Black List, a compilation of the top unproduced screenplays for 2009. Over 300 film professionals were asked to submit the titles of up to ten of their favorite screenplays. For a screenplay to have made it onto the Black List it must have received at least five votes for it. Some scripts have five votes while the top-rated screenplay received 47 votes. That doesn't mean that the script with the most votes is the best screenplay of the year; it means...
