Frank Campanella was born on March 12, 1919 in New York City, New York, USA. He was an actor, known for Pretty Woman (1990), Overboard (1987) and Raising Helen (2004). He died on December 30, 2006 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Growing up in New York speaking Italian before he learned English, he
later worked as a civilian interpreter during WWII deciphering Italian
and Sicilian dialects for the U.S. government.
Died of complications from Crohn's disease, a disease that causes
inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract.
Originally set out to be a concert pianist. His father was a musician
and piano builder and played in orchestras backing up such musical
luminaries Jimmy Durante, Al Jolson and Eddie Cantor.
