Myriad Pictures has announced that Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman and Diane Keaton will star in "Life Itself", a heartwarming comedy directed by Richard Loncraine (Wimbledon, Firewall). The film's based on the acclaimed "Heroic Measures" novel written by Jill Ciment which Charlie Peters is adapting for the screen. Revelations Entertainment is producing "Life Itself" in association with Latitude Productions. Producers are Curtis Burch, Lori McCreary, Tracy Mercer and Peters while Freeman serves as executive producer via Revelations. "Life Itself" tell the story of one eventful weekend in the life of Ruth (Keaton) and Alex (Freeman), an aging New York couple who have finally decided to sell their East Village apartment of 40 years. Veteran filmmaker Fred Schepisi is set to direct romantic drama Words and Pictures, starring Clive Owen and Juliette Binoche.
It will mark the 72 year-old director's first feature film since 2011 Australian drama The Eye of the Storm, which was nominated for three Aacta Awards. In October, he also signed on to direct Australian film The Drowner although it appears that Words and Pictures, which is due to shoot from March 2013, will take precedence.
