A group of Hollywood producers launched a new digital ad Tuesday that poses a basic question: What does life look like in 2030 if Donald Trump continues to be president?
The spot, called “Twenty Thirty,” comes from Micho Rutare, producer Ben Rosenblatt and executive producer Mike Silver. Watch it above.
In the spot, a grandfather (Ivar Brogger) is running through the list of presidents, in numerical order, with his granddaughter. When he gets to 45, the child asks, “Why isn’t there a 46?” Then the spot cuts to Trump making authoritarian-like remarks.
The scene then cuts to a smoggy Los Angeles skyline, with all of the buildings bearing the name, “Trump.”
“Grandpa, did you vote for Trump?” the granddaughter asks.
Then there is the sound of a siren, and the message, “Vote while you still can.”

As SAG-AFTRA’s two factions threaten to fracture the guild further – now they’re threatening to see each other – independent presidential candidate Jane Austin has embarked on a campaign to unify the 160,000-member union in advance of next year’s negotiations for a new film and TV contract.
Saying that “the two-party slate system represents an antiquated system that no longer effectively serves the interests of the membership,” Austin now is rolling out her endorsements for board candidates from both parties – incumbent president Gabrielle Carteris’ Unite for Strength slate and challenger Matthew Modine’s Membership First opposition slate. Austin, currently the guild’s national secretary-treasurer, was elected to that post two years ago on the Membership First slate.
“Based on the board candidates’ statements, and my experience working with them, I’ve chosen to support these specific candidates no matter what slate they’re on because I know...

Unite for Strength, the ruling party of SAG-AFTRA, announced its slate of candidates today in the union’s upcoming elections.
Michelle Hurd, currently serving on the national board, will be running for president of the Los Angeles local; Clyde Kusatsu and Ellen Crawford will be running for vice president slots. Kusatsu is currently the national vice president from La, and Crawford is a national board member. As previously reported, Camryn Manheim will be running for national secretary-treasurer as president Gabrielle Carteris’ running mate.
Two candidates are challenging Carteris for president: Jane Austin, currently the guild’s national secretary-treasurer who’s running for president as an independent, and Matthew Modine, who is running at the top of the ticket for Membership First. His slate has yet to be announced.
In New York, Rebecca Damon, national executive vice president and New York president, is running for re-election as New York president.

To be fair, given the reputation Pascal Laugiers’ Martyrs has in the horror community, it was never going to be an easy task for Kevin and Michael Goetz to remake the film. Given that there are already a myriad of reviews out there comparing the two (detrimentally), I’m going to try something new and Not mention Laugiers’ original film too much… Though given how closely this remake follows the original movie, that could be difficult!

'Gone Girl' weekend box office: Biggest David Fincher opening weekend ever? (Photo: David Fincher directs Ben Affleck in 'Gone Girl') Directed by David Fincher, Gone Girl is expected to top the North American box office this weekend, October 3-5, 2014, while boasting Fincher's biggest domestic opening ever. Or maybe not — if the demonic doll Annabelle has her say and if one takes into account one pesky but, would you believe it, quite important detail. More on that further below. The $61 million-budgeted mystery thriller Gone Girl, starring Ben Affleck — not to be confused with the mystery thriller Gone Baby Gone, directed by Ben Affleck — collected a healthy $1.25 million from Thursday night screenings at 2,370 sites. For comparison's sake: the Tom Hanks PG-13-rated sociopolitical thriller Captain Phillips debuted with $600,000 on Thursday night in early October 2013, eventually grossing $25.71 million on its first weekend out. Now, unlike Captain Phillips, the R-rated Gone Girl is a "family movie,...

2008. That's when we first reviewed the Dowdle Brothers' found footage film The Poughkeepsie Tapes (review). Years have passed, and no one has since seen hide nor hair of the movie... until now, that is.
John Erick Dowdle directs the film from a story he wrote with his brother, Drew Dowdle. Stacy Chbosky, Ben Messmer, Samantha Robson, and Ivar Brogger star in the faux documentary, which is available Now on DirectTV VOD.
Who knows why this one has sat in limbo so long while a throng of other far worse films have been allowed to saturate the market? If you are a DirectTV subscriber, check it out and let us know what you thought.
Synopsis
When hundreds of videotapes showing torture, murder, and dismemberment are found in an abandoned house, they reveal a serial killer's decade-long reign of terror and become the most disturbing collection of evidence homicide detectives have ever seen.
