Facebook has announced the formation of a “Social Vr team,” which will be exclusively tasked with determining ways in which future users might interact with one another using virtual reality.
This could include “the ability for friends who live in different parts of the world to spend time together and feel like they’re really there with each other,” the social network wrote in a blog post. While no other information about the team has been released, The Verge reports that it is being led by two game developers, Daniel James (Puzzle Pirates) and Mike Booth (Left 4 Dead).
At the same time -- as it has been known to do -- the 1.6-billion user network touted the growth of fledgling Vr with some rather staggering stats. People have watched more than one million hours of video on the Gear Vr -- a mobile virtual reality device Facebook launched alongside...

A man in Oklahoma was arrested Tuesday in the murder of his stepfather, who died after an “atomic wedgie” caused him to suffocate on his underwear.
Brad Lee Davis, 33, will be charged with the murder of Denver St. Clair, 58, who died of asphyxiation and blunt force trauma to the head.
According to one report, Davis was drinking with his stepfather on Dec. 21, the night of the murder. St. Clair reportedly began speaking ill of Davis’ mother, leading Davis to give St. Clair an ‘atomic wedgie,’ one where the underwear is pulled so as the elastic wraps around the victim’s head. Another report states that Davis claims St. Clair jumped him when he arrived at St. Clair’s home, provoking a fight.
“Davis allegedly pulled the elastic waistband of St. Clair’s underwear over his head and around his neck,” reads the police arrest affidavit.

Writing on the Team Fortress 2 blog, Valve developer Mike Booth revealed that the computer-controlled enemies will be unleashed on the game's King Of The Hill maps. To try out the new "digital killing machines", Booth outlined a specific console command that PC players must input in order to add the bots to their game. "With the success of the AI systems on Left 4 Dead, we've been continuing to develop these technologies to create new kinds of game experiences," said Booth. "Team Fortress 2 is an excellent 'sandbox' for explorations of this sort, and we've been quietly doing (more)...
