Graceland, Season 1, Episode 11: “Happy Endings”
Written by: Joe Henderson and Andrew Colville
Directed by: Sanford Bookstaver
Airs Thursdays at 10 pm (Et) on USA
On this week’s Graceland, Mike and Paige openly work against Briggs, DJ volunteers his services to a desperate Briggs, Charlie breaks from the team, and Johnny proves he’s not as clueless as he lets on.
Despite being the first season’s penultimate episode, “Happy Endings” put a halt to the past few episodes’ rapid pace so each character could receive a nice chunk of screen time in preparation for next week’s finale. While it’s nice to see the whole cast get equal story for once, the episode felt a little disappointing–like a filler episode rather than the second to last.
Most frustrating is Briggs himself–not only does he selfishly lure DJ into his career-ruining mistakes,...

Graceland, Season 1, Episode 4: “Pizza Box”
Written by: Daniel Shattuck
Directed by: Sanford Bookstaver
Airs Thursdays at 10 pm (Et) on USA
On this week’s Graceland, Mike takes the lead on Briggs’s Bello case, Charlie holds down the fort while making pasta sauce, and the thus far underdeveloped trio of Paige, Jakes, and Johnny finally get their hands on a quality storyline.
After four episodes in, Graceland‘s made successful attempts to fully remedy the pilot’s lack of well-rounded characters; at this point, everyone’s finally been given chances to shine and develop into equally-worthy members of the Graceland team. Even Charlie, sidelined this week to make her allegedly world-famous pasta sauce, is given a handful of decent scenes with both the whole crew, as well as individual moments with Briggs (where he shows a rare moment of emotion over Mike’s surprise moment...

Revolution, Season 1, Episode 3: “No Quarter”
Written by Monica Owusu-Breen
Directed by Sanford Bookstaver
Airs Mondays at 10 pm (Et) on NBC
Revolution is a show that began life with a lot of expectations. Built on a premise that was highly intriguing, yet could turn faulty very quickly, it had the added weight of Jj Abrams and Eric Kripke, both associated with mythology-heavy shows in Lost and Supernatural, directly tied to it. The first two episodes, however, indicated a sure footing that proved the show had a solid foundation beyond simply the premise. The third episode continues this strong beginning streak of the show, while introducing some very interesting new elements that add further intrigue to what’s to come.
The show has, to date, done an excellent job of keeping the audience invested in three divergent storylines, and this week is no exception. While Danny Matheson’s passivity makes his storyline rather weak,...

Creator: Eric Kripke. Director: Sanford BookStaver. Writer: Monica Breen. Executive Producer: J.J. Abramas. Cast: Tracy Spiridakos, David Lyons, Graham Rogers, Tim Guinee, Zak Orth, Maria Howell, Elizabeth Mitchell, Billy Burke, Giancarlo Esposito, and Jd Pardo and Daniella Alonso. "No Quarter" is a term applied to those who surrender in battle. They will not be quartered or housed; instead, they will be executed. Luckily, for Miles (Billy Burke), in the third episode of "Revolution," he is not sentenced to death. Instead, he is towed to Saint Anne, Illinois, which might be a fate worse than death. "No Quarter" is an episode that showed some improvement in the use of segmented stories and comedic dialogue compared to earlier episodes. This film fan's intrigue was also piqued by all the film references and by actor Billy Burke's ability to portray a believable anti-hero. There were at least three central stories being...

Last night’s season finale of ABC’s delectable soap Revenge — perfectly titled “Reckoning” — was, in a word, explosive. And filled with juicy cliffhanger after cliffhanger.
With so many doors opened, there are so many questions that are begged: Is Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) really dead? What’s going on with the increasingly tangled love life of Emily (Emily Van Camp), Jack (Nick Wechsler), Amanda (Margarita Levieva), Daniel (Josh Bowman), and Ashley (Ashley Madekwe)? Is Amanda’s baby really Jack’s? Who will play Emily’s mother? And what will the character be like? How did the show so perfectly...

We now have one dead body and one prime suspect on Revenge, as the ABC thriller caught viewers up with Daniel and Emily's engagement party last night, which culminated in - Spoiler Alert - the shooting of Tyler.
Who pulled the trigger? Who might be going to jail? Viewers must wait until February 29 for a few clues, but producer Sanford Bookstaver (who directed the episode) offered the following as a preview for what's ahead on "Scandal."
Revenge Promo: Who is Under Arrest?
“Episode 16 is a darker episode,” Bookstaver tells EW. “It starts off with a direct cut from what happened that night on the beach... the next episode is smaller and darker and more about the characters, the intrigue, the pieces of the puzzle. It’s starting to put more of it together.”
Who do you think killer Tyler?...

ABC’s addictive sudser Revenge raises the stakes in each new episode. But last night that edict soared to a new level, as viewers were treated to what they’ve been waiting for all season: the return to the series-opening, murderous beach scene. By the end of the hour it was revealed that — Spoiler Alert — creep Tyler Barrol (Ashton Holmes), not the much-teased Daniel Grayson (Josh Bowman), was the person who got shot on the sands in the show’s suspenseful September pilot. The revelation is more than your typical Revenge twist for several reasons, but mostly because it transforms...

[Spoiler Alert: If you have not seen tonight’s Revenge do not read further unless you want some very juicy happenings spoiled]
(l to r) Actors Josh Bowman, Nick Wechsler, Gabriel Mann.
ABC's hit freshman drama Revenge finally got to its big reveal tonight, something the show had been teasing ever since the first episode. Was that body on the beach really golden boy Daniel Grayson (Josh Bowman)? Revenge hasn't disappointed all season, and tonight's pivotal episode "Chaos" kept up the winning streak, not only answering (or semi-answering) many burning questions, but also creating new quandaries and digging our troubled Hampton residents a little bit deeper into their respective holes. The good news? Looks like there's a heck of a lot to keep viewers hooked for the season's remaining seven episodes!
Following a screening earlier this week, AfterElton had a chance to chat with members of the cast, the episode’s director and one of the show’s executive producers. They gave us their take on some of tonight’s shockers but,...

I'm Madeleine Stowe. You may know me most recently as Victoria Grayson on ABC's Revenge. While I've seen many things in my 30 years as an actor, I wanted to share the indelible experience of my trip to Haiti just before Christmas. I first went to Haiti more than a year before the devastating quake that shook the tiny country, killing over 300,000 people in seconds. Oscar-winning filmmaker Paul Haggis gathered together a small group of friends, myself included, we took the trip, and after which, we formed Artists For Peace and Justice (Apj). Apj supports the stunning education, medical, and social...

Listen up, Pretty. Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell will execute another prison escape when Robert Knepper reprises the reptilian villain on A&E’s Breakout Kings (Sundays at 10/9c), a new drama created by Prison Break‘s own Matt Olmstead and Nick Santora. What’s new with T-Bag? What, thankfully, is not? And what’s the “huge” reason he’s gone on the lam this time, to be hunted down by veteran U.S. Marshals Laz Alonso and Domenick Lombardozzi and “breakout kings” Jimmi Simpson, Malcolm Goodwin and Serinda Swan? Knepper gave TVLine a peek at his latest run.

Harper's Island Episode 2 "Crackle" Written By: Jeffrey Bell Directed By: Sanford Bookstaver Original Airdate: 16 April 2009 Dig It or Bury It? Definitely less soapy than the last episode, which I like. Still wasn't super-duper action-packed. The deaths this episode were not as good (see below). In general, I did not find this episode very absorbing. There were lots of brief moments and snippets of scenes that seem to have little-to-no value to the story. I am sure they will be relevant later on, or are meant to throw the viewer off the scent. But there were too many this episode, and just bogged the story down. I'm...
