"Want what I got? You gotta go all the way." Mill Creek Entertainment has revealed the official trailer for a crime thriller film titled Dead Wrong, the latest from filmmaker Rick Bieber (no relation to Justin Bieber Afaik). This is set for a VOD release at the end of May if anyone is interested in giving this a look. A story of greed, envy, sex and murder. A narcissistic husband is not satisfied anymore and wants more. He devises a psychotic, get-rich-quick scheme with his new, gambling-addicted attorney that ignites an emotional and deadly chain reaction. Which quickly overwhelms the lives of those around him. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? This stars Derek Smith, Katrina Bowden, Chelsea Debo, Cress Williams, Blake Shields, Rosalie Ward, Joshua Bitton, Chet Hanks, with Rob Schneider. Alas this doesn't look like it's worth a rental. // Continue Reading ›...

“Bupkis” Season 2 is bupkis. Star Pete Davidson has confirmed that he has opted not to continue with his semi-autobiographical Peacock comedy, which had previously been renewed for a second season.
“I’ve always seen Bupkis as a window into my life, since it is so personal and about my struggles and family,” Davidson said ina. statement. “After nearly a decade of my personal life being in the media I wanted a chance to tell my story my way. Of all the work I’ve ever done, Bupkis is by far what I’m most proud of. I am so grateful to Lorne Michaels and Broadway Video, Peacock, Universal Television and the amazing cast and writers for helping me create something honest, funny and heartfelt. I do also feel that this part of my life is finished. I’m very excited for this next chapter and for you guys to see the work.

What is it about Pete Davidson?
That’s the question that comes up every time the tabloids report on his dating life, every time we hear about Lorne Michaels taking him on vacation or Jeff Bezos promising to shoot him into space. It sometimes seems even to extend to his roles — like his signature Saturday Night Live character Chad, a totally unremarkable dude who nevertheless attracts attention and adoration everywhere he goes.
It’s a question that might find its way to your lips again as you scan the eye-watering list of cameos for Davidson’s new Peacock dramedy Bupkis — everyone from Machine Gun Kelly (of course) to Ray Romano (why not) to Al Gore (what?). Heck, it’s more or less the premise of Bupkis, created by Davidson (alongside Judah Miller and David Sirus) and starring Davidson as a fictionalized version of himself. Based on the season’s eight uneven episodes,...

It was the end of an era on The Rookie Season 3 Episode 9 as two of our three original rookies were moving on...and leaving Nolan behind.
At different moments, this installment had my heart in my throat, tears in my eyes, and even produced uncontrollable laughter. That's a testament to just how good this show can be.
Let's start with the Amber Alert, which definitely upped my heart rate. Lopez's feelings were spot on for many new parents or anyone who recalls what it was like to be one.
This case is all the nightmares in my closet combined.

More than 25 Los Angeles area theater companies, including the Geffen Playhouse, the Pasadena Playhouse and the Deaf West Theatre, have revoked their memberships in the L.A. Stage Alliance after the nonprofit organization misidentified and mispronounced the name of Asian actress Jully Lee at an awards show earlier this week.
The L.A. Stage Alliance has issued an apology and pledged to undertake “a visible and transparent transformation.”
The incident occurred Tuesday night at the virtual Ovation Awards for local theater productions. Lee’s first name was mispronounced when the nominees for best featured actress were read, and a photo of another Asian actress was shown onscreen.
Lee was nominated for her performance in Jiehae Park’s Hannah and the Dread Gazebo, a co-presentation of East West Players and the Fountain Theatre. The following day, East West Players left the organization, posting an Instagram statement saying, in part, “The mispronouncing...

"Something happened at the speakeasy." A trailer has arrived for an indie sci-fi thriller titled The Tangle, from actor / filmmaker Christopher Soren Kelly making his feature directorial debut. Described as a "lyrical new science-fiction film" and quotes in the trailer say it's "a chess game of a film" that's both ingenious and ambitious, a complex story intertwining sci-fi with meticulous filmmaking. The film is set in a future where microdrones have been invented, filling the air, the water, and our blood. "In this world, it is impossible to keep a secret anywhere but in your S.O.L. (the "Secure OnTangle Line"), a quantum encrypted hard drive implanted in your brain." The plot follows a murder investigation involving secret government agents and The Tangle creators and more. Starring Joshua Bitton, Christopher Soren Kelly, Jessica Graham, Nicole da Silva, Anil Kumar, Mary Jane Wells, and Bel Deliá. This looks cool, I'm curious to watch.

Set in a small rust belt tow in post-recession America, One Dollar is a grimy mystery where one single dollar bill (hence the title) changing hands connects a group of characters involved in a shocking multiple murder. Giving some serious Ozark-meets-Sense8 ensemble, interconnected realness, the titular currency brings us on a different path and point of view in each episode to paint a picture of a modern American town with deep class and cultural divides that spill out into the open as the town’s secrets get revealed.

A familiar face will make another encore during Season 6 of Arrow.
Series lead Stephen Amell teased via Twitter that Colin Donnell is back on set at the CW superhero drama, though one can only speculate how the late Tommy Merlyn will “return” this time. (Amell’s tweet ruled out the notion of a flashback.) The news comes on the heels of reports that Caity Lotz will bring Sara Lance back to Arrow for its season finale.
Earlier this season, Donnell appeared in the “Crisis on Earth-x” crossover event, as that alternate world’s Nazi version of Tommy. The actor can...

Earlier this week, I published my rave review of HBO's new miniseries The Night Of, and I'm going to put it into the weekly review rotation for its run, starting with thoughts on the first episode, coming up just as soon as I can name two Yankees headed for the Hall of Fame... "Am I really here?" -Naz Because "The Beach" has been available for a few weeks through HBO's On Demand and streaming services, I've gotten to see the early reactions to it, which tend to break down along three paths: 1)That was unbearable to watch because I felt so bad for Naz as his night out went so horribly awry; 2)That was unbearable to watch because Naz acted like such a complete idiot at every turn; 3)Even though I felt bad for Naz, and/or couldn't believe how stupid he kept being, I was riveted by the whole thing.

The wheels have not come off the bus at Castle‘s 12th precinct, even with Kate Beckett having moved on to fight crime in D.C.
In fact, Seamus Dever says that for Detectives Ryan and Esposito, “Life is good without Kate.”
Speaking with TVLine on the set of the ABC drama, as it was shooting this week’s episode, Dever explained, “Everyone thought, ‘Oh, it’s all going to fall apart,’ but Ryan and Esposito keep on trucking.” Scene partner Jon Huertas concurs, saying, “Esposito and Ryan have always been competent detectives, and now they get to step up and run the show.

New Castle season 6,episode 3 wild spoilers & clips hit the net. Last night, ABC released the new spoilers and sneak peek/spoiler clip (below) for their upcoming "Castle" episode 3 of season 6. The episode is entitled, "Need To Know," and it appears to be quite interesting and wild as Beckett and McCord storm in to take over Castle's seemingly less important case, and more. In the new "Need To Know" episode , with Beckett still in D.C., Castle and the boys are going to investigate the murder of former child star, Charlie Reynolds, who rose to fame ,playing the lovable nerd on an early 90s High School sitcom. But the case will end up, taking a turn for the strange when Agents Beckett and McCord show up from Washington to take over the investigation, creating competitive tension in the precinct. But why would a washed-up actor's death warrant Federal scrutiny? Whatever the reason,...

"Castle" Season 6 will bring some new faces to the NYPD and its murder cases. Antonio Sabato Jr. and Joshua Bitton have been announced as guest stars in the upcoming season.
"Saved by the Bell" homage gets its Slater
Antonio Sabato Jr., best known for his roles on soap operas "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "General Hospital," will guest-star in episode 3 of Season 6. Sabato will play Ramon Russo, the heartthrob actor who once appeared in a '90s teen sitcom, "2 Cool for School." One of the actors gets murdered around the time of a reunion special, prompting a police investigation (as reported by TVGuide.com).
Considering the actor's Latin hunkiness, it's likely that Ramon Russo will be the fictional answer to Mario Lopez, who played Aj Slater on "Saved by the Bell." Sabato's episode is titled "Need to Know."

Odd feelings all-round for this second episode of the season. Not that I don't find most of Jane's (Simon Baker) antics amusing, but this was more of a farce with a goal in sight that took way too long to be achieved. And I don't like seeing other agents making themselves at home in Team Lisbon's bullpen. Period. It seems our little band of agents is still feeling the effects of the botched operation against the Red John-ish minion that Jane blew away. Lisbon (Robin Tunney) is suspended. Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) is working glorified guard duty at the front door, Cho (Tim Kang) has been reassigned and Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti) is still getting her head shrunk for being involved with a homicidal minion. Jane isn't happy about it, but Bertram has assigned him back to work with a new team who has effectively moved right into Lisbon's team's home.

Chicago – HBO’s “Band of Brothers” has been an annual bestseller around the holiday season, first on DVD and now on Blu-ray, and it seems virtually impossible that their equally-notable “The Pacific,” now on Blu-ray and DVD, would not follow it up the charts and turn out to be one of the most-given HD gifts of the upcoming season. With perfect HD picture and sound, fascinating special features, and one of the best mini-series in the history of television, this is a highlight of a very-impressive season for Blu-ray.
Blu-Ray Rating: 5.0/5.0
“The Pacific” is simply spectacular. The winner of an amazing eight Emmys, including Outstanding Mini-Series, “The Pacific” is really in a class of its own. It is much more than a mere shadow or duplication of “Band of Brothers.” It stands on its own, not merely because the Pacific arena of World War II combat was significantly different than the European fight,...

And so the miniseries concludes. I aren’t sure why they called it a miniseries, there has been very little ‘mini’ about it. I was wrong to anticipate that Little Boy and Fat Man’s visits to Hiroshima and Nagasaki would be featured in this episode. Instead, we are shown the marine’s return to civilian life and their troubles readjusting. To be honest, I found this frustrating. The Americans may have suffered unbelievable hardships and may have found themselves strangers in their own homes upon their return, but the programme completes neglects the fact that the Japanese suffered the most unprecedented destruction there has ever been in warfare. The Pacific has absolutely nothing to say about the horror of nuclear warfare, which, along with its consistent failure to humanise the...

The Pacific – Episode 9

The action continues not in Iwo Jima, as I had expected, but on the island of Okinawa. I guess they thought Clint Eastwood had covered that battle pretty comprehensively. We are once again reunited with Sledge and Snafu, who have been joined by new recruits, among them Peck and Hamm.
The fighting is as fierce as it gets, though this campaign is complicated not only by the sheer amount of mud – making it impossible for dead bodies to be removed, so they are left to rot – but by the presence of Okinawa citizens. Sledge has become a hard and cold man, barking orders and abuse at the new arrivals. Hamm fits in well with the team but Peck proves problematic. He carries a picture of a woman who may or...

The Pacific – Episode 8
Stars: James Badge Dale, Joe Mazzello, Jon Seda, Joshua Biton, Brendan Fletcher | Directed by David Nutter & Jeremy Podeswa
Crushingly, as we learn at the start of this installment in the epic series, the marines’ efforts at Peleliu were largely pointless: after securing it, the American forces never used again. Instead, they simply moved on to Iwo Jima, an island that would prove critical in the Pacific campaign.
Before we get there however, our focus switches to John Basilone and his work on the home front. We see him performing in a stilted radio play and losing touch with his family. His desire to return to active duty is increasing by the day. Whilst his request to return to the frontline is denied, a compromise is reached when John is offered the opportunity to help train recruits in California.
John throws himself into his new role with gusto and the recruits idolise him.

The Pacific – Episode 7
Stars: James Badge Dale, Joe Mazzello, Jon Seda, Joshua Biton, Brendan Fletcher | Directed by Timothy Van Patten
Having taken the airfield, Sledge and the other marines must flush out the Japanese troops from the Bloody Nose Ridge, a rocky area of Peleliu, in which the Japanese have constructed a series of caves and tunnels from which they are launching ferocious ambushes.
Sledge battles to save his own soul, as his father had feared for back in Part Two. As the battles rage on, he becomes more and more desensitised and numbed by the violence and horror being inflicted both on him and his friends and by them.
Basilone, meanwhile, is continuing his tour of American flogging war bonds. He seems to be becoming increasingly anxious to return to active duty, despite the nightmarish flashbacks he is having. His medal of honour meaningless to him, he retreats into solitude and golf.

Having captured the beach, the marines are faced with the near-impossible seeming challenge of taking the airfield at Peleliu from the Japanese. Sid returns to America and meets the Sledge family. He expresses his faith in his friend’s abilities as a marine to reassure his worried parents.

The only way to capture the airfield seems to be a suicidal, coverless run across the runways, straight into the line of fire. Sledge continues to prove his mettle and earns more and more respect from his companions. Leckie, meanwhile is injured...

The Pacific – Episode 5
Stars: James Badge Dale, Joe Mazzello, Jon Seda, Joshua Biton, Brendan Fletcher | Directed by Carl Franklin
The marines are tasked with capturing an airfield on the island of Peleliu and Sledge, having completed his training and shipped out, is about to get his first taste of war. The marines expect the battle to last days at most, but they are gravely mistaken. Meanwhile, Basilone is back home selling war bonds, getting his end away with Virginia Grey and becoming accustomed to his burgeoning celebrity status.
Sledge arrives at camp with the other new recruits and is subjected to some light hazing from the veterans, in particular by Merriell ‘Snafu’ Shelton (well-played by Rami Malek), who revels in being unlikable. Leckie also returns from his stay in the hospital looking like ‘a crab that crawled up my pee-hole’, as one of his more unsavoury companions describes him. Sledge is reunited,...

The Pacific – Episode 4
Guest Review by Andrew James
Stars: James Badge Dale, Joe Mazzello, Jon Seda, Joshua Biton, Brendan Fletcher | Directed by Graham Yost
Eugene Sledge is sent to Camp Elliott, California to train as part of a mortar unit, and it seems at this point he’s not a natural warrior. Meanwhile the 1st Marine Division are on the deck of a troop transport singing Christmas carols as they head towards their next protracted engagement, Cape Gloucester.
Leckie and the rest of the Marines soon find that on Cape Gloucester the enemy are not the Japanese, who they fight rarely and usually at night (like episode 1), but the jungle and the constant rain, and it’s not a surprise when Leckie ends up in a naval psychiatric hospital when his unit moves on to Pavuvu.
Episode 4 is very much like an episode of HBOs previous World War II show,...
