Former Canadian broadcasting executive Trina McQueen will head the jury for the Banff Television Festival's Rockie Awards, organizers said Thursday. McQueen, most recently president and chief operating officer of CTV Inc., will lead the seven-member international jury, which includes Caroline Behar, head of acquisitions and international co-productions at France 5; New York Daily News TV critic David Bianculli; and Graham Benson, chairman of U.K. production company Blue Heaven Prods. ("The Ruth Rendell Mysteries"). Also sitting on the Banff Rockies jury are Australian film and TV writer Glenda Hambly, director-producer at Rogue Prods.; Masaru Ikeo, executive producer of the science and environment program at Japan's NHK; and Gudrun Kjellberg, a Swedish public TV executive. The panel will decide winners in 14 program categories and present two special jury awards. U.S. TV producers earned 18 nominations for the Banff Rockie Awards, while British companies have 15.
