Jarvis spent much of his life in Arichat and Halifax.
His career output includes two albums, radio and TV appearances, festivals, and several shows with major symphony orchestras across Canada.
In 1957, he and his family moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he opened a small contracting business.
He started playing in public at age five. His professional career began in Cape Breton, where he played concerts and dances during the 1940s and 50s.
He was an Acadian fiddler who blended a variety of styles -- French, Cape Breton, and Irish. He was famous for his vast repertoire. He is best known for his work with the Jarvis Benoit Quartet.
