- Luis Avalos was born on September 2, 1946 in Havana, Cuba. He was an actor and director, known for The Ringer (2005), Hollywood Homicide (2003) and Resurrection Blvd. (2000). He died on January 22, 2014 in Burbank, California, USA.
- He established the Americas Theatre Arts Foundation in Los Angeles in 2000, serving as its artistic director.
- Following his death, he was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Hollywood Hills) in Los Angeles, California.
- In the early 70s, Luis was also a guest star on a bilingual, KLRN/KLRU-Austin, TX, Children's Television Workshop show called, "Carrascolendas." He played an alley cat named, "Cleofas.".
