Roadside Attractions released in Us last month.

Though the day of cupid’s arrow is still a month away, that doesn’t stop the studios from trying to heat up these frigid Winter nights (and matinees). And, for at least this February 14, the holiday is claimed by Christian Gray and company (add joke about restraining cherubs). As foretold by its PG rating, this romance is pretty gentle, though it’s also based on a literary “heart-tugger”. Plus it’s got a “mighty strong” country kick with its locale and music (soundtrack and setting). so Hollywood’s hoping for a “long term relationship” rather than a one night (or single viewing) stand with Forever My Girl.
The little town of St. Augustine, Louisiana is all abuzz on this sunny warm afternoon. Home town boy Liam Page’s first CD is climbing the charts (everyone’s heard his hit song on the radio). And today he’s marrying his...

For most of its running time, “Forever My Girl” is surprisingly inoffensive, the type of movie that you’d watch on a plane and not feel too embarrassed by – at least until it made you cry. (Pro tip: this is why you pick the window seat.) However, the country-fried romance written and directed by Bethany Ashton Wolf becomes a victim of self-sabotage as it nears its (predictable) conclusion, removing any good will it created in its first half.

You have to give credit to Bethany Ashton Wolf's adaptation of Heidi McLaughlin's novel Forever My Girl' for not shying away from its clichés. This Hallmark Channel-style romance about a country music superstar who returns to his hometown after many years and discovers that he has a 7-year-old daughter proudly embraces its aw-shucks romanticism and family-friendly bromides. The film's committed sincerity should well please its target audience.
The central characters are Liam Page (Alex Roe, The Fifth Wave), who has achieved fame and fortune as a country music singer-songwriter, and Josie (Jessica Rothe), the woman he abandoned at the...

"Sometimes you just gotta let go, take a walk on the wild side." Roadside Attractions & Ld Entertainment have debuted the full-length official trailer for a super cheesy romantic drama called Forever My Girl, from director Bethany Ashton Wolf, adapted from Heidi McLaughlin's novel. The film tells the story of a country music singer named Liam Page, played by Alex Roe, who leaves a woman behind at the altar to chase his dreams of fame and fortune. However, when he returns to his tiny hometown for a funeral, he reconnects with Josie and learns about another surprise (see the trailer). But of course, right? Also starring Jessica Rothe, Abby Ryder Fortson, Travis Tritt, Judith Hoag, John Benjamin Hickey. Featuring original country music performed by a bunch of country stars. Definitely for me, but maybe for some of you. Here's the full-length trailer (+ poster) for Bethany Ashton Wolf's Forever My Girl,...

Exclusive: CBS Films has acquired Other People’s Love Letters, a script that will be helmed by Tom Bezucha. The film has a Love, Actually vibe in that it follows the intertwining storylines of four romances, each at a crossroads. The film was scripted by Bethany Ashton Wolf, and Laurence Mark is producing with Jonathan Shukat, with Tamara Chestna and Eric Bromberg exec producing. They may change the title, but it’s based on the book of the same name, which is a collection of love letters that was edited by Bill Shapiro. They’ll now go out to cast. This movie is meant to be pure romance, and Tom Bezucha is the perfect director to bring these diverse love stories to life on the screen,” said Mark. Wme-repped Bezucha helmed Monte Carlo and The Family Stone. Wolf is repped by Apa and Magnet Management. CBS execs Mark Ross and Winnie Kemp are overseeing.
