One of the more rare genres of filmmaking is the cinema of absurdity, which can actually be defined in various ways. Suddenly, The Movie (De repente, la pelicula) is an absurd comedy, written and directed by veteran Venezuelan filmmaker Luis Armando Roche. New to the genre, this is an experimental film for Roche, derived from a script written 25 years ago. This is a passion project by a filmmaker already well-established in his home country, a filmmaker who has already had films play international festivals such as his 1977 film The Moving Picture Man, which played Cannes Film Festival.
Suddenly, The Movie is by many definitions not a traditional film. It.s clear that Roche intended to break all the rules, a tactic perfectly acceptable by filmmaker.s with as much experience under their belt. As they say, .you must learn the rules before you can break them..

Chanel Ryan has a lot going on and definitely one to be on the look out for! The model/actress will soon be seen in several upcoming horror projects including Bad Kids Go To Hell (we talk about that) and more. She's every geeks dream girl, smart and as funny as she is pretty and then some, plus she loves Brian Shirley's Crocaloctopus and I like that a lot! Check out my newest crush and latest Versus with actress Chanel Ryan.
Brian S- Ok, you started out modeling and have ended up acting. How did you get into acting?
Chanel Ryan- This is true. At the time I had done a couple of modeling jobs and was having dinner at my friends Traci & Stephi"s house. We lived close to the beach so had just come in and were still in our swimsuits. Their older sister was a...

There are two notable horror films moving to DVD and Blu-Ray this week and one other, which is mostly known for softening the horror genre. Joshua Grannell's debut film, All About Evil releases today and this is an independent film, with many well known actors participating. Thomas Dekker will star with Natasha Lyonne and Cassandra Peterson aka Elvira. The film puts real life murders on the screen for fans to watch, until they are the next to die! Moving on to Shadowland, which is the first time this film has been seen by 28Dla, readers will find an independent and creative take on the vampire myth. Vampire hunter faces vampire in this production from Pirate Pictures. The last is The Twilight Saga: Eclipse - which releases later in the week (December 4th). More details on two of these films are below.

This is The week to invest in a PS3 just so you can buy and download the fantastic Dead Nation exclusively on the Playstation Network. Trust us - it will be worth your while.
If you are not a gamer, this week's horror offerings are limited to some fangless bites with the latest installment of Twilight, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (and all its related merchandise), staking (ha!) out a Saturday release all by itself. There's also Vampires Suck, but the release party flash mob in Hollywood on November 30th sounds more interesting than the film itself.
Dead Nation (Video Game)
Available exclusively on the Playstation Network for $14.99, Dead Nation (Review) is said to be home to the "smartest zombies" to ever be placed in a video game, meaning that these baddies will perform surprise attacks, drop down on you from buildings, and even grab at you through fences. On top...

Very nice! Saint Louis’ own Shadowland, directed by Wyatt Weed, has a wicked awesome new poster… just in time for the film’s appearance at this year’s Chicago Comic Con Wizard World Convention, which runs August 19-22 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center (Rosemont). Shadowland will be playing on Saturday night at 8pm Cst at the Convention Center. Director Wyatt Weed — as well as stars Caitlin McIntosh, Jason Contini, and Carlos Antonio León — will be in attendance on Saturday.
Synopsis:
An old church in a modern North American city is undergoing a renovation. Construction equipment and piles of debris cover the grounds. A deep pit has been dug for new sewer pipes.
Night falls. A woman crawls from the pit. She is weak and covered with mud, her face beaten, her throat cut. She is unable to speak, remember who she is, or how she got there. This is Laura.

Future generations will never know what they missed, in Bigger Than the Sound.

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson spent approximately 45 percent of his life as a cherubic, preternaturally gifted, exquisitely Afro-ed kid from Gary, Indiana, and the remaining 55 percent of it as the most famous man on the planet. This probably explains everything about him: his eccentricities (real or imagined), his music, his triumphs and tribulations and, ultimately, his death. Michael Jackson was never a normal person; he never had a normal childhood (his father put him to work in the family business — the Jackson 5 — at the age of 5), and he segued from that directly into an exceedingly abnormal adulthood, one spent directly beneath the megawatt glare of the spotlight. He lived — and died — smothered by fame.
I'm not writing this to eulogize Jackson, or to explain away the things he may or may not have done.
