Disney fans young and old love a great adventure with Mickey Mouse and the gang. Over the years, Mickey and pals have headlined a variety of shows, each taking viewers on fun and fantastical adventures. The gang’s latest television hit is the Disney Junior animated series, “Mickey Mouse Funhouse.”
Mickey and the gang find the magic funhouse, Funny, in the woods. When Funny calls to them, they each hop in a car to race to their old clubhouse from “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” From there the gang attaches their cars together to create the “Floaty Coaster” to fly to the funhouse. Funny then lets the gang choose between three themed doors for their adventure. The gang is then transported to a new destination and ready to solve any problem they might face. They come across friends, old and new, and Funny comes along too, morphing into different shapes to fit in.

Alaskan Nets, a documentary executive produced by Chris Pratt that centers on confluence of high school boys basketball and the culture of fishing on a Native reserve in remote Southeast Alaska, has won the audience award at the Santa Barbara Film Festival.
The 36th annual festival, which ran a hybrid in-person/virtual event that began March 31, wraps today with the unveiling of its juried awards. Alaskan Nets, directed by Jeff Harasimowicz, won the Audience Choice Award among a total of 11 categories that were represented.
“To say we are thrilled to win the audience choice award would be a vast understatement,” Harasimowicz said. “To see this film resonate with audiences is a deeply humbling experience. We are so honored to have had this special opportunity to share Alaskan Nets in Santa Barbara and I know it’s an experience my team, our families and the entire community of Metlakatla will never forget.

Since the inception of movies to video games, very rarely have we seen the original actor(s) reprise their roles for the interactive version. Even Kingdom Hearts, in its early days, had to bring in new actors to voice some iconic characters. The most high profile voice of the series was mainly Haley Joel Osment. With Kingdom Hearts III, however, that's all about to change. Along with the return of Haley Joel Osment as Sora, Square Enix has announced that the highly anticipated game has brought in the A-list cast from Disney's Frozen and Tangled, along with some iconic voices from Pirates of the Caribbean, Hercules, Toy Story, and other Disney IPs to reprise their roles for the English dub.

Lin-Manuel Miranda is finally going to be in the room where it happens, “it” being the Emmy-nominated DuckTales. The Hamilton creator will make his debut as Gizmoduck (aka Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera) in a new DuckTales episode set for Friday, May 11.
“I’m really excited that a new generation of kids will be growing up with DuckTales,” Miranda said. “As a huge fan of the original series, I love that I can share this new version with my sons.”
The Miranda-voiced Fenton, says the channel, is “Duckburg’s preeminent hero who has Latin roots,” a “brilliant young scientist” that marks a “reimagining” of the character by executive producer Matt Youngberg and co-producer and story editor Francisco Angones.
In Miranda’s debut episode, titled “Beware the B.U.D.D.Y. System!,” Fenton is recruited by Launchpad (voiced by Beck Bennett), who is feeling menaced by tech genius Mark Beaks’ newest invention. See the trailer above.

“DuckTales” makes its triumphant return to TV in a Disney Xd movie, titled “Woo-Oo!,” on Saturday that sets the bar high during this age of reboots and revivals.
In the TV landscape filled with comic book adaptations featuring superheroes, zombies or spies, it’s easy to forget that the much-beloved “DuckTales” also hailed from ink and paper. It’s this source material, however, that gave the series its storytelling heft and visual vibrancy, an irresistible combination that has contributed to the original series’ success and nostalgic longevity. This was not some treacly, preachy after-school fare, but rather zippy escapism that built in serialized installments.
Fortunately, the reboot of the series keeps all of those important original hallmarks. “American Idol” alum Felicia Barton re-recorded the signature theme song but keeps its sense of fun and excitement intact. The animation...

For folks like me, DuckTales played a big part in your childhood. Between the comedy and mix of high adventure, it helped to scratch a very specific itch on TV shows that not a lot of animated series did back then. However, as great as iconic I found the series to be, perhaps what it’s best known for is its catchy opening theme. As someone who watched the show, catching that opening them was an integral part of the actual experience of watching the show (very much how the opening of an anime is an integral part of the show itself).
If for some reason, you don’t remember that opening (or if you've never seen it), take a look:
For as long as we’ve known that Disney Xd would be reviving DuckTales for a modern audience, we’ve been wondering how they’d handle the opening theme.

A slew of classic Disney movies are hitting for the first time on Blu-Ray, including one double-pack release, and you’re going to want to make sure to pick these up. You haven’t paid attention to some of these titles for a while, and it’s about time you got the chance to catch them on Blu-Ray. The best part is that there’s a great mix of releases hitting. Bedknobs and Broomsticks is all but lost in the cultural consciousness, and it deserves a return. The Academy Award-winning movie from the year I was born is filled with a lot of fun and adventure, and like most Disney films, holds up well for a whole new generation.

At the inaugural D23 Expo fan event back in 2009, Disney hosted its first Disney Legends ceremony to the general public. Since 1987, Disney has honored nearly 250 individuals within the company - both in the spotlight and background. Everyone from Julie Andrews and Tim Allen to lesser-known, but equally important figures, such as Bill Farmer (voice of Goofy) and Tony Anselmo (voice of Donald) have been recognized for his or her contributions. This August at the 2nd D23 Expo, the Legends ceremony will be held once again, hosted for a second time by charming, comical host Tom Bergeron from Dancing with the Stars. 12 new individuals are going to join the Legends family, and here is an opportunity to learn more about them before they accept their awards on stage on Friday, August 19th.

The general see-ask-pause-agree formula of the Little Einsteins franchise proves to be more than just an easily replicable gimmick. Disney, which owns the Little Einsteins series, has made a dubious effort to reproduce the success of the all-too-popular brand but with the flagship Disney characters in their place. Instead of four toddlers wandering about with classical music interludes we now have Mickey and Donald prancing about in a nonsensical series of encounters serving as little more than a shallow opportunity to get as many Disney characters in the minds of your kids so they’ll forever be consumers of the Disney Kool-Aid.
Alright, so this all sounds downright vindictive, but it really stems from good old-fashioned resentment for a poorly crafted production that feels like its entire premise was a rejected episode from the Little Einsteins line stretched to twice the acceptable length. To start, the title would invoke some...

The Disney Classic Short Films collection abounds with animation gems that have been wiling away the last few years. In the third installment of this collection, headlined by the more well-known The Prince and the Pauper, we get one the better animated features in the old Disney library. Accompanying the main cartoon we have five additional cartoons of starkly varied age, style and quality (more so than on the other sets).
The Prince and the Pauper (1990)
Directed by George Scribner, Written by Gerrit Graham and Sam Graham
Here we have one of the best Disney shorts to come of the pre-Pixar era. Created back in 1990, the animation here stands up to the test of time – in fact, seeing it for the first time in what must have been a decade, I was shocked at how beautiful it still looks. Based on the classic story by Mark Twain, it has all...
