Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge was treated after suffering a mild heart attack in Milwaukee on Tuesday ... and luckily, he's expected to make a full recovery. The Celtics released a statement on Thursday ... saying the ex-NBAer received immediate medical attention and will be able to return to Boston, although it's unclear if he will be able to attend tomorrow night's Game 3 matchup in the Eastern Conference semis against the Bucks. Ainge has had health...

A lot of fans are excited about Warner Bros.’ Space Jam 2, but apparently a lot of the NBA athletes aren’t. According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, Lebron James, who will star in and produce the movie, is having trouble recruiting players to be in the movie. He’s been making an effort, but only a few players have signed on.
Windhorst explained:
"In all honesty, he's been recruiting players to come and try to be in Space Jam with him this summer and he hasn't been able to close some of those deals. He's recruiting for his movie as well as he is for the Lakers."
When asked which NBA players James has been trying to get on board the film Windhorst said, "I'm not going to say right now but let's just say it's the top players."
It would make sense to get all of the top...

[[tmz:video id="0_3vudfq60"]] O'Shea Jackson Jr. says there's one way Gordon Hayward could've avoided that gruesome bone-snapping leg injury this week -- "Should've been a Laker." "I feel bad for Gordon Hayward," the "Straight Outta Compton" star told us on the way out of Delilah in West Hollywood ... "but that's that Celtic luck!" Ouch. Don't worry, there's more -- Cube's son also pledges allegiance to the Ball family, hollers at some chicks and says the best player in...

Or another big star ... We got Wahlberg out in NYC and asked him about the Celtics' envious dilemma, whether to use the #1 pick in this year's draft on a college stud (probably Fultz) or trade for an elite NBA player.

After 18 years Space Jam is actually going to get a sequel. This time around it will star NBA superstar Labron James. Space Jam was released in 1996 and it starred Michael Jordan and a few other NBA players such as Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Danny Ainge, Tyron “Muggsy” Bogues, Vlade Divac, Cedric Ceballos, Larry Johnson, Shawn Bradley and Paul West acting along side Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and the rest of the Looney Tunes gang.
The first Space Jam movie made over $230 million, and I'm surprised they didn't make a sequel sooner. Space Jam was kind of a terrible film, but I can't deny that it was a ton of fun to watch. Like several others, I was a huge fan of basketball and the Looney Tunes growing up so of course it was exciting to see these two worlds collide.
The movie is being developed by Charlie Ebersol,...

LeBron James changed how the game is played off the court for the National Basketball Association two summers ago by spurning a new contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team that drafted him out of high school, in a televised Decision to take his talents to South Beach to team up with the established Dwayne Wade and fellow free agent signee, Chris Bosh, to win a title and finally become a king with a crown. Last Thursday, on June 21st, that mission was accomplished when King James led the Heat to a stunning Finals victory in five games, four straight victories, over the upstart Oklahoma City Thunder led by their own homegrown Big Three of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Russell Westbrook. The victory is especially sweet for James because while many in and outside of professional basketball considered it would only be a matter of time before he won a title,...

Alec Baldwin has just dropped out of Adam Shankman's highly anticipated Rock Of Ages adaptation. It's a disappointing blow for the Hairspray director but far less disappointing when put into context. Losing Alec Baldwin sucks, but losing him in this situation is like taking Danny Ainge off the 1985-1986 Celtics or removing Jeff Lynne from the Traveling Wilburys. The cast is simply too high powered to cower amidst one exodus. Sure, Tom Cruise, Malin Akerman, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bryan Cranston and Alec Baldwin sounds better, but had he never been announced, the project likely would still have the same amount of buzz. Baldwin was set to play club owner Dennis Dupree. No reason has been publically given for his departure, but when all is said and done, the old standby, scheduling conflicts, will likely be cited. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the lack of Baldwin should...

Jay-z is facing an investigation by the NBA for reportedly fraternizing with members of the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. After the Wildcats' win over the University of North Carolina in the March Madness tournament, Jay-z apparently visited the victors in their locker room. Because the 'Empire State of Mind' singer is a minority-owner of professional team the New Jersey Nets, he is now being probed by the league for violating a rule prohibiting owners from having contact with potential NBA prospects. In 2007, Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge was forced to pay a $$30,000 (£18,702) fine for sitting next to a college athlete's (more)...

Photos of Jay-z taken with the University of Kentucky men's basketball team after their win over North Carolina in the Regional Finals of the Ncaa tournament on Sunday have drawn the wary eyes of the NBA.
CBSSports.com reports that the NBA will be investigating Jay-z's postgame congratulatory visit to the Kentucky Wildcats locker room at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Such visits normally would be considered harmless, but Jay-z is a minority owner of the New Jersey Nets, and contact between NBA personnel and potential NBA prospects is prohibited. Kentucky has at least two possible lottery picks in Brandon Knight and Terrence Jones, should they declare for the NBA draft.
The photos and video began making the Internet rounds the day after the win, showing Jay-z posing...

Vuvuzelas and Nintendo's 3Ds are raking in the comments on Twitter right now, and as with most things, some people are fans and some are not. Stephen Colbert chose an anti-3Ds stance last night in one of his posts, whereas Russell Brand happens to be a fan of those horn noises at the World Cup.
I think it's safe to say that most of Twitter-Wood's citizens are fans of "Entourage." I'm personally a fan of the great photography the show has been able to generate for the column here. Lenny Kravitz happens to be the star today, and hopefully by the time this goes live Autumn Reeser will have decided on what to wear for the show's Season 7 premiere.
These hot issues and more appear in Twitter-Wood for June 16, 2010.
