Brolin To Play George W. Bush?

22 January 2008 | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Legendary director Oliver Stone is set to make a movie about U.S. president George W. Bush - and he's appealing to Josh Brolin to take the title role. Stone, who has previously made movies about former presidents John F. Kennedy (JFK) and Richard Nixon (Nixon), is currently in talks with No Country For Old Men star Brolin and hopes that he will sign on for the currently untitled project. The 61-year-old moviemaker insists Brolin will be perfect for the role of the Republican president. He says, "Josh (Brolin) is actually better looking than (George W.) Bush but has the same drive and charisma that Americans identify with Bush, who has some of that old-time movie-star swagger. I want a fair, true portrait of the man," The director aims to begin production in April as the script - which was penned by Stanley Weiser, co-writer of Stone's 1987 film Wall Street - was completed before the start of the Hollywood writers strike in November.
