Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Woodley began his film pursuits at the age of seven studying the techniques of animation at the Art Gallery of Ontario where he made a number of animated short films under the guidance of Academy Award winning animator, Eugene Fedorenko.
After graduating from York University's film production department, Woodley worked in the industry as a writer, stop-motion animator and an editor - receiving two Gemini nominations (the Canadian Emmy).
He became one of eight founding members to form the Paulus Film Group, a film and video collective, where-in he directed three successful, award winning short films - "The Wager" in 1998, "Bed & Breakfast" in 2000 and "Downpour" also in 2000.
"Rhinoceros Eyes", Woodley's first feature film, debuted at the 2003 Toronto International Film Festival where it won the Discovery Award. The film stars Michael Pitt ("Last Days", "The Dreamers").
His second feature film, "Tennessee", starring Adam Rothenberg, Ethan Peck and Mariah Carey will be followed by "Toronto Stories" and "Drone" in 2008 and 2009.
