Brokenhearted Shania Twain has sent a message to her fans thanking them for their support as she attempts to get on with her life after splitting from her husband.
Music mogul Robert 'Mutt' Lange has filed for divorce after 14 years of marriage to the country queen, leaving Twain shattered.
But, in her first reaction to the split, the Canadian star has posted a heartfelt message to her fans on her website.
She writes, "I am going through a rough time personally in my life (and) I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you.
"Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength. Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life.
"I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music. This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey.
"I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever. Thank you my friends, from the bottom of my heart."

Shania Twain's close friend and longtime assistant is finally speaking out – and denying reports she's behind the singer's surprise split from her husband of 14 years, People reports in its new issue. Speaking for the first time since the news of the alleged affair became public, Marie-Anne Thiébaud, 37, told People, "You cannot believe everything you read in the press." When asked directly if she had an affair with Twain's husband, music producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, she replied, "No." That contradicts several sources close to the situation, who say Thiébaud and Lange left their spouses for each other and continue to maintain a romantic relationship.

As Shania Twain copes with her sudden split with the support of family and friends in her native Canada, sources close to the singer say she is reeling from a double betrayal – not only by her husband of 14 years, music producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, but by a woman she considered a close friend. Lange's relationship with Marie-Anne Thiébaud, 37, a longtime secretary and house manager at Twain and Lange's estate in Switzerland, was behind the breakup, say several sources familiar with the situation. "Mutt and Marie-Anne left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship," says one source,

What caused the sudden breakup of Shania Twain and her husband, music producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, after 14 years of marriage? His relationship with another woman, say several sources. Reached by People after the separation was announced in a statement, Lange called the split "an unfortunate thing." He added, "It's literally just a growing apart, that's all." But sources close to the situation say a third party was involved: Marie-Anne Thiébaud, a longtime secretary and manager of the couple’s chateau in Switzerland. "Mutt and Marie-Anne left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship," says one source.

While Def Leppard had modest success before John "Mutt" Lange entered its world, the legendarily hands-on producer's input on 1983's Pyromania and 1987's Hysteria made the band both household names and multimillionaires. After 1991's Adrenalize (which he executive-produced), Lange started a family with Shania Twain, relocated to Switzerland, and turned away from the harder sounds he once converted into platinum—and Def Leppard's catalog hasn't been the same since. On its 10th studio album, Songs From The Sparkle Lounge, Def Leppard does its best to recapture the harder pop-metal of those Lange-era classics.
