Movie Trailer - Jim Carrey in 'Yes Man'

22 July 2008 7:05 PM, PDT | From GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news

On the plus side, Jim Carrey has gotten back to comedy, or what appears to be comedy, anyway. No matter how gifted he may be or how gifted he thinks he may be, drama, melodrama, and nightmarish horror movies just aren't for him. Eternal Sunshine notwithstanding, he's a comedian and that's what the audience wants to see.

So, here comes Yes Man, which looks exactly like Chaos Theory, a movie that got very little business earlier this year. That one starred Ryan Reynolds as a man who has always lived a structured life until one little thing goes wrong, after which he does something completely unpredictable.

This has that premise, only it's a guy who says no his whole life and starts saying yes. To everything. (Comparing it to Liar, Liar almost seemed too easy.)

And there's a new trailer for it, which we found at TrailerAddict. Watching it, this

Top Ten Best Movies Midway Through 2008

8 July 2008 3:07 PM, PDT | From Rope Of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news

Top Ten Best Movies Midway Through 2008 Figuring out the ten worst films over the course of the first six months of 2008 was difficult because there were so many. Unfortunately, figuring out the best films of the first six months wasn't nearly as difficult as it turns out there was really only one film left on the outside along with one major exception. First off, Cloverfield didn't make the list and for what I believe are obvious reasons. As much as Cloverfield is a fun movie to watch the first time you see it there isn't much to enjoy after that. The first 18 minutes or so are worthless set-up pieces that you never want to watch again and the last 60 minutes of the film are still a bit fun, but the mystery behind the film has already been revealed and the unexpected deaths are no longer unexpected and you begin to

Johansson: 'Monogamy Is Hard'

7 July 2008 12:11 PM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Scarlett Johansson is convinced her relationship with fiance Ryan Reynolds will last, because they are among the few humans who can be monogamous.

The actress claims remaining faithful to one partner is "hard work" and not natural.

She tells the latest issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, "I don't think it's a natural instinct for human beings.

"Monogamy can be hard work for some people. I don't think it applies to everybody, and I don't think a lot of people can do it."

But Johansson insists she is among those who can resist the temptation to cheat: "I believe in finding a soul mate. I've always been in monogamous relationships. I would never want to be in an open one. It'd be too awful."

Reynolds and Johansson announced their engagement in May. The actress previously dated Josh Hartnett and Jared Leto.

Johansson Reacts to Obama Stories

16 June 2008 5:11 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson has denied reports she is supporting presidential candidate Barack Obama because she has "a crush" on him.

The 23-year-old star has long voiced her support for Obama in his race for the White House in the upcoming U.S. elections - but Johansson was recently accused of favouring the politician because of his good looks and not focusing on his policies.

But a source tells the New York Daily News that the rumours are just not true: "She is a surrogate (Obama campaigner). They're not exchanging love letters. Everyone seems to be forgetting that she's engaged.

"Kal Penn (actor and Obama supporter) is also a surrogate, and no one says he has a crush on Obama."

Johansson is currently engaged to Blade: Trinity actor Ryan Reynolds.

11 June 2008 9:13 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Hollywood beauty Scarlett Johansson has developed a pen pal relationship with Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

The pair has been exchanging regular emails, in which Obama confesses he is a "huge movie lover" and particularly fond of Johansson's performance in Lost in Translation.

The 23-year-old actress - who recently announced her engagement to actor Ryan Reynolds - is a longtime supporter of the Illinois senator. She even joked to reporters in January: "My heart belongs to Barack. I am engaged to Barack Obama.

She reveals their recent "thoughtful" correspondences with Obama in an interview with website Politico.

She says, "You'd imagine that someone like the Senator who is constantly travelling and constantly 'on' - how can he return these personal emails? But he does and in his off-time I know he also calls people who have donated the minimum to thank them.

"I feel like I'm supporting someone, and having a personal dialogue with them, and it's amazing."

Johansson and Reynolds have been dating since February 2007, shortly after Blade: Trinity star Reynolds broke off his engagement to singer Alanis Morissette.
