Parker McCollum and Brittney Spencer delivered the hard-hearted breakup anthem “Burn It Down” to the 2024 CMT Music Awards stage on Sunday.
The “Compassion” singer appeared in an embellished red dress, while McCollum took the stage in a fitted black t-shirt and cap as the pair performed against a backdrop of literal flames. Spencer’s soaring vocals elevated the radio hit as the pair took on the smoldering chorus: “Burn it down ’til it’s ashes and smoke/Burn it down to the smolderin’ coal/Burn it down ’til I don’t want you no more.

Adell is a rising country star who dropped her debut album, Buckle Bunny, last summer. Her inclusion on Cowboy Carter is of note because she seems to have manifested it herself. In February,...

If you’ve been online at all over the past two weeks, you’ve heard “Planet of the Bass,” a viral 1990s Eurodance parody that rapidly evolved from TikTok gag to, arguably, the song of the summer. The first teaser and key art for the “American Dream” season of “Hell’s Kitchen” has arrived, TheWrap can exclusively reveal. Season 22 of the series is set to premiere Sept. 28 on Fox.
“Winning ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ is the American dream,” a contestant confidently says into the camera during this first teaser.
The 30-second clip then cuts between several wild scenes, from cheerleaders performing a routine in the studio to food fights and someone pouring what appears to be milk onto one of the contestants. Baked into the mix are several Gordon Ramsay staples such as the celebrity chef yelling repeatedly about raw meat and labelling a dish “disgusting.” Watch the promo above.
In the “American Dream” season of the series, contestants will be divided into red and blue teams and will compete in various themed challenges, including a BBQ competition, creating their own signature dish and performing dinner service at the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant.

In an ultimate show-must-go-on moment in country music history, Wynonna Judd was not about to let the legacy of the Judds slip quietly into the sunset, rather than go out as spectacularly as intended, after her mother, Naomi Judd, died by suicide in April 2022. Wynonna Judd knew going on tour soon after her mother died wouldn’t be easy. She also didn’t know it would be healing.
“I have to admit, I’ve had an incredible, incredible opportunity to heal through all of this, to cry and to say things onstage that I’ll never say again,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter. “This is a whole other level of deep, and I wasn’t expecting it. I knew it would be intense but this is literally, ‘Oh, my Lord.’ This is me with a broken heart being as open as I’ll probably ever be, and other people are responding to that in a way that I wasn’t expecting.”

It was a short-lived run for the Romans’ country music dynasty, as Fox has canceled Monarch after just one season. As reported by Deadline, Monarch will not be returning for a second season. The show had gone through a number of changes since it was originally filmed during the pandemic. Initially, it was set for a January 2022 launch but was pushed back as a result of Covid-19. It was then redesigned as a shorter 11-episode series. Created by Melissa London Hilfers, the musical drama revolved around Dottie (Susan Sarandon) and Albie Roman (Trace Adkins), the heads of a country music empire, and their daughter Nicky Roman (Anna Friel), who does all she can to protect the family’s reign in country music while ensuring her own stardom. The drama also starred Joshua Sasse, Beth Ditto, Iñigo Pascual, Meagan Holder, Eva Amurri, Emma Milani, and Martha Higareda. It featured guest appearances...

“Monarch,” the country music drama starring Susan Sarandon and Trace Adkins, has been canceled after one season on Fox, IndieWire has confirmed.
The show will not return for a second season and will end after Tuesday night’s season – now series – finale.
“Monarch” aimed to be a soapy character drama in the vein of “Nashville” about The Romans, billed as the first family of country music who have built a recording dynasty across generations. But when their dynasty’s reign is put in jeopardy, the family’s matriarch Nicolette Roman (Anna Friel) stops at nothing to restore their family’s legacy.
And though the season premiere was Fox’s most-watched scripted series debut in three years, seen by 3.8 million viewers with a 0.8 score in the key demo, its remaining 10 episodes struggled and averaged far below that initial high mark. The premiere got a big bump following an NFL double header...

Martina McBride’s recent performance in Nashville, Tennessee left fans concerned about her future career after hearing her off-key singing voice.
Fans have speculated that the 56-year-old country singer’s vocal cords have suffered from overuse for over 30 years.
In Memoriam 2022: 100 Great Celebrities Who Died This Year!
This theorizing comes from McBride’s mixed showings at past concerts, occasionally singing with a raspy voice and struggling to land all the notes of some of her favorite songs.
Her harsh vocals were most apparent while opening for Wynonna Judd’s tribute tour to her mother Naomi, who died by suicide in April.
Despite her difficulties, McBride intends to perform until December 18 as part of her 12th annual The Joy of Christmas Tour that spans from Greensboro, North Carolina to Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The tour also marks the 25th anniversary of her album Evolution, which produced two #1 hits in “Wrong Again” and “A Broken Wing.

Wynonna Judd shined in black during The Judds: Love Is Alive final concert Thursday night, which honored her late mother, Naomi Judd.
Wynonna — who has been wearing black at many of the public appearances she’s made since her mother’s death in April — dressed head-to-toe in the color, topping a pair of velvet bellbottoms with a blouse that featured fringe detailing. CMT’s Artists of the Year special honored relative upstarts like Cody Johnson, Carly Pearce, and Lainey Wilson earlier this week in Nashville, but it was Alan Jackson, the show’s Artist of a Lifetime recipient, who showed them all how it was done.
Jackson, a Country Music Hall of Fame member, closed out the evening with a spirited performance of his Southern party anthem “Chattahoochee.” Introduced by Chris Stapleton and punctuated by Jackson’s signature vocal tics and sprightly fiddle, the rendition had his fellow honorees on their feet.

Wynonna Judd is opening up about her relationship with sister Ashley Judd in the wake of their mother’s death.
As Et previously reported, Naomi Judd — who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in April at age 76 — did not explicitly name daughters Wynonna or Ashley in her will. The late country legend appointed her husband of more than 30 years, Larry Strickland, as executor of her estate, while rumours began to surface suggesting a rift between her famous daughters over the will.
Now, in a People interview, Wynonna insists “there is no argument” regarding the legal document or her relationship with Ashley. The 58-year-old country singer also shares that she and Ashley, 54, will “split” Naomi’s estate after Strickland dies, and that they have no plans to contest the will.
“Someone told me while I was at Ashley’s house, ‘Hey, did you know that they’re saying this about you?...

“Today, my world changed, and it will never be the same again. My hero got her wings last night, and it’s been a day filled with tears. Many memories, so much gratitude and thanking my God above for blessing me first with her music and her guidance through the perils of the music world way before we ever met. I looked up to Loretta always. Then when we became friends, she brought me flowers always, and I brought flowers to her,” the “Delta Dawn” singer recounted.
