Behind the Scenes of Tony Moran's Return, Beg!

18 September 2008 1:00 AM, PDT | From DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news

We just got word about a new horror film shooting in my neck of the woods, specifically the Boston area, that brings the original Michael Myers back to the screen along with some very recognizable faces.

Tony Moran, who played the unmasked Myers at the end of John Carpenter’s Halloween, stars in Kevin MacDonald’s Beg as Jack Fox, a burnt out detective being forced into early retirement. When the worst serial killer since The Boston Strangler strikes, Jack is pulled out of retirement and forced to help a rookie as he tracks the killer through the streets of Salem.

Tiffany Shepis, Debbie Rochon, PJ Soles and Kristina Klebe all star alongside Moran in Beg, and the producers were kind enough to send us a slew of behind-the-scenes pics which I’m happy to say feature an awful lot of blood and scantily clad girls. There are still a few shooting days left,

13 August 2008 10:33 PM, PDT | From bloody-disgusting.com | See recent Bloody-Disgusting.com news

Pittsburgh-based indie horror production company Happy Cloud Pictures has just announced that their latest production Splatter Movie: The Director's Cut featuring horror icon Debbie Rochon (Tromeo And Juliette) and Evil Dead effects wizard, animator and artist Tom Sullivan will be available for sale for a very limited time. Splatter Movie, a darkly satirical mockumentary that is one part Blair Witch, one part Scream and all blood and guts is a guaranteed thrill and more than a couple of uncomfortable laughs (especially for anyone who has ever worked on an indie horror film or is familiar with the horror convention scene).

Exclusive Pics From Walking Distance!

6 August 2008 1:37 AM, PDT | From DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news

Indie director Mel House dropped us a line yesterday with new pics from and an update on his Closet Space (review) follow-up, Walking Distance.

Filming wrapped on July 20th, and now House and the crew from Oddtopsy FX are working on ”a ton of really whacked-out FX stuff for 2nd unit” House told us. ”We should be done with that soon, at which point I can really jump headlong into the editing process and start getting shots to our digital FX team - who really have their work cut out for them as well. Fortunately, these guys have worked with the likes of Robert Rodriguez and Wolfgang Petersen, so I think we're in good hands on that front.”

Needless to say, House has upped the ante on his second directorial effort, working with people who have been among the best in the business. The cast includes Adrienne King (Friday the 13th), Reggie Bannister,

Tom Savini is Voracious!

16 July 2008 4:11 PM, PDT | From DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news

We just got word in that SFX legend Tom Savini will be directing a flick called Voracious. The cast is said to be populated by familiar horror faces Tiffany Shepis, Debbie Rochon and Michael Berryman (who is currently unsigned but in talks).

Sadly, we don't know much more about the production other than this synopsis we were provided...

"Post '9/11'.

One of America's greatest national tragedies. A time where the countries governmental securities took advantage of their countrymen's fears and suspicions. The newly formed Us Department of Homeland Security and its allies discover a terrible plot brewing in the mountains of Afghanistan. A formidable new breed of vampire bat is being genetically created to attack the American shores.

Yet ... something they didn't count on occurs!

During the interrogation, a vile killer silently emerges. Genetics Vampirillius Ixodida. A common tick. But there is nothing common about this creature, but rather a nightmarish aberration.

Great news, Satan fans! James Felix McKenney just dropped us a line with the news that his fourth feature, Satan Hates You, is officially in the can! The film’s been in various stages of production for a long time now, so I’m sure the crew at MonsterPants Movies and Glass Eye Pix are breathing a sigh of relief today!

The film stars Don Wood, Christine Spencer, Angus Scrimm, Reggie Bannister, Michael Berryman, Larry Fessenden and Debbie Rochon in a story about two troubled individuals (Wood and Spencer) who begin to realize they’re in the carpool lane to damnation! Inspired by the “Satanic panic” films of the 50’s–70’s, Satan Hates You has all the markings of the kind of unique film we just don’t get enough of these days.

"This film is significantly larger than anything we've done before,” McKenney said. ”With a huge cast and multiple locations around New York,
