In "Avengers: Endgame," it was revealed that the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) had conceived of a way to stay a green-skinned muscle monster at all times while maintaining his ability to think and reason. Prior to this breakthrough, Bruce Banner only turned into the Hulk when he was angry, becoming an unreasoning brute keen only on destroying everything in front of him. Sadly, this development for the Hulk meant that audiences would not be able to see Ruffalo, a very good actor, in person any longer. In "Endgame" and in the TV series "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law," Ruffalo was realized only through motion-capture CGI. It's very good CGI, but it's not Ruffalo's real face. The last time we saw Ruffalo was during a brief spiritual out-of-body experience in "Endgame," and even then, he was a translucent ghost.

Heavy Metal Synopsis
Based on the fantastical illustrated magazine Heavy Metal, producer Ivan Reitman enlists the help of some of Hollywood’s animation masters to create the otherworldly tale of a glowing green orb from outer space that spreads destruction throughout the galaxy. Only when encountered by its one true enemy, to whom it is inexplicably drawn, will goodness prevail throughout the universe. Richly and lavishly drawn, the vignettes of the orb’s dark victories include the character voices of John Candy, Harold Ramis and a pounding soundtrack by Black Sabbath, Blue Öyster Cult, Cheap Trick, Devo, Donald Fagen, Don Felder, Grand Funk Railroad, Sammy Hagar, Journey, Nazareth, Stevie Nicks, Riggs, and Trust. Andy Sidaris’ Day Of The Warrior and Return To Savage Beach are available on Blu-ray From Mill Creek Entertainment
Andy Sidaris, the King of Girls, Guns, and G-Strings, made his mark on independent cinema with a string a 12-film string of nudity-packed action movies between 1973 and 1998 that are so profoundly goofy and heavily sexualized that, watching them in today, you’d swear they must be parodies. Now Mill Creek Entertainment is releasing all of Sidaris’ stories of top-heavy female secret agents on Blu-ray. His final pair of masterpieces were Day Of The Warrior (1996) and Return To Savage Beach (1998)
In Day Of The Warrior , somehow, the L.E.T.H.A.L. Agency’s Headquarters security has been breached by an unknown foe who managed to break into the Force’s computer system and tamper with classified documents regarding valuable information about its operatives.

Two of my all-time favourite horror films are Michele Soavi’s Stagefright (1987), which sees a group of stage actors locked in the theater for a rehearsal of their upcoming musical production with a psychopathic killer; and Mark Herrier’s Popcorn (1991), which sees a murderer kill the attendees of a movie marathon in an old abandoned cinema. Why am I telling you this? Well Keola Racela’s Porno continues the same thematic tradition found in those films and other movies such as Fade to Black, Anguish and Demons, whilst also harkens back to that similar period in film history, setting this particular story in small-town America circa 1992…

Julie Strain is not dead. Collaborator Malibu Bay Films yesterday reported that the prolific B-movie actress had died aged 57. The company now says that they were mistaken.
“The information we received from a trusted source of the community on the status of [Malibu Bay Films] icon #julie strain was found to be False!” the film company posted on Instagram. “We deeply apologize for needlessly upsetting anyone.”
Family members have also taken to social media to deny Strain’s death.
Strain has struggled in recent years with degenerative dementia and lingering effects of a major head trauma suffered in her early 20s during a bad equestrian mishap. A former high school athlete in Pleasant Valley, Ca., the native of nearby Concord endured the difficult road to recovery and then began a career as a model and actress. Despite the medical factors, Strain handled much of her own stunt work over the years while carving...

You know, it wasn’t until the release of Detroit Rock City that I realised that a) Adam Rifkin and Rif Coogan are one in the same; and b) just how many of Rifkin’s films I considered amongst my favourites at that time: Never on Tuesday, The Dark Backward, The Chase and, of course, Psycho Cop Returns. Mainly because they were films I remember renting on video (you couldn’t escape trailers for The Dark Backward back in the VHS era) and seeing on Sky’s movie channels in the days when you could be guaranteed to find an “obscure” film screening as filler between their big-name flicks!

If you’re going to watch the movies of Andy Sidaris, you’ll require a mental divide of some sort, especially if you’re the sort of person who believes we should all be treated and viewed equally. While we all, as humans, like looking at pretty pictures of people of whatever gender floats our boat, at some point – usually about half an hour in – of one of his movies, even the most dedicated admirer of boobs will be thinking “any time you want to get back to the plot is fine by me”.
Below is the scene that first interested me in the work of Mr Sidaris. If you like it, read on, if you groan, then We Are Movie Geeks has many articles about decent movies to enjoy. Here it is:

Quentin Tarantino quickly chats to us about The Hateful Eight and Jason Statham...
Den of Geek doesn't usually accept five minute interview slots, as it’s not really enough time to conduct an interview in. But when the opportunity for this one arose, we decided to make an exception. In this case, I can do something with five minutes. Aren’t five Tarantino minutes the equivalent to ten minutes with most other interview subjects? And, most importantly, how else are we going to find out his favourite Jason Statham film?
So we sat down with the director, and someone with a stopwatch who would make sure we didn’t run over our five minutes. Here’s how it went.
Quentin Tarantino: Is that a vintage Ninja Turtle shirt?
Den of Geek: It’s a new shirt, but it is the original comic book art on there.

Heavy Metal, aka Metal Hurlant, has long been considered one of the definitive anthology comics of all time – telling some of the most fascinating sci-fi and fantasy stories ever comitted to print and inspiring writers and artists alike. Created by Jean Giraud (better known under his legendary moniker, Mœbius) and Philippe Druillet, Metal Hurlant was one of the first examples of the “mature” comic as we known it today. Debuting in 1974 and spanning 146 issues, the anthology book inspired both the animated Heavy Metal in 1981 and its sequel in 2000 – a sequel which was a star vehicle for iconic scream queen and Penthouse Pet Julie Strain (who would reprise her role in the video game Heavy Metal F.A.K.K.2). As a child of the 1980s, I raised myself on a steady diet of terrible zero-budget cable slasher flicks. I would scour the TV Guide to check out what was playing that night, and keep my fingers crossed that my parents would go to bed before my movie would start, so I could sneak into the living room and watch it (at a very, very low volume, lest it wake them.) Brinke Stevens, one of the three "original" scream queens (along with Linnea Quigley and Michelle Bauer) was a frequent star of these cheap little flicks. With over 150 titles to her credit, picking out even a handful of her most well-known credits is tough, but let's try. Slumber Party Massacre, Sorority Babes in the Slime Ball Bowl-a-Rama, and Haunting Fear all spring to mind. After over 30 years in the horror industry, she, Linnea, and Michelle finally have a documentary, Screaming in High Heels.

Reservoir Dogs was the first independent film I ever saw, and I remember being completely blown away by it. I think I was around 15 years old when I watched the movie on VHS. I watched it over at a friend's house, and we couldn't believe what we were seeing. I loved this film, and to this day, I still enjoy watching it. The film was released in 1992, and it took movies to a new level. The movie was not only incredibly cool, but at the time it seemed to break the rules of conventional storytelling.

The weather in Portland turned on October 1st, from clear skies bathing the city with sunshine to cloudy with a chill in the air.
It seemed like perfect to witness the end of a yearly Rose City tradition. For fifteen years, the first weekend in October brought legions of fans to The H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival. But the crowd gathering in the Hollywood Theater would not only celebrate Cosmic Horror in film and literature, but also bear witness to the festival's last Portland gathering. Festival director Andrew Migliore, having used up all his 'sanity points', was calling this year his last.
Such sad news did not deter the fans packed into the Hollywood Theater. The vendor room was hot and muggy as people circled around tables full of books, artwork, t-shirts and all manner of tentacled merchandise. I took a quick look, but rushed into the upper left theater...

If you're not a hardcore fan of B-movies, the name Jim Wynorksi probably doesn't mean much to you -- but if you've ever cruised by Cinemax late at night and seen something like The Bare Wench Project, Hard to Die, the Not of this Earth remake (starring Traci Lords in her first mainstream film role), or Chopping Mall, then you're familiar with his work.
Wynorski has spent a quarter of a century plying his trade in the B-movie minefield, refining his craft and making films filled with busty babes and a low-budget Diy aesthetic. His shoots are legendary, with reports of him filming 100 set-ups per day (a typical Hollywood director does 20 ... ). Wynorski has spent a quarter of a century plying his trade in the B-movie minefield, refining his craft and making films filled with busty babes and a low-budget Diy aesthetic. His shoots are legendary, with reports of him filming 100 set-ups per day (a typical Hollywood director does 20 ... ). His filmmaking philosophy is simple, but has served him well -- "A big chase and a big chest." -- and his penchant for filming women topless led to one of his many pseudonyms -- Tom Popatopalous.

Film School Rejects is reporting that Kevin Eastman, co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, has spilled some major beans on the remake of Heavy Metal, the totally over-the-top 1981 sci-fi flick full of boobies, violence, and, some might say, awesomeness.
Eastman wrote Heavy Metal 2000, which stars former Penthouse Pet Julie Strain, who is also, incidentally, Eastman's ex-wife. She also voiced Heavy Metal 2000 and starred in the Heavy Metal F.A.K.K.2 video game. Eastman told Fsr,
"I've got breaking news that Fincher and James Cameron are going to be co-executive Producers on the film. Fincher will direct one. Cameron will direct one. Zack Snyder is going to direct one and Gore Verbinski is going to. Mark Osborne and Jack Black from Tenacious D are going to do a comedy segment for the film. Three other directors have agreed but we haven't signed them, but they're equally as jaw-dropping.

Halo-8 Entertainment gave Fango the scoop that it has picked up worldwide distribution rights to the hallucinatory independent horror film In A Spiral State, directed by Ramzi Abed. The company also let us know that the filmmaker and Spiral’s stars will be signing at this weekend’s Fango convention in La.
In A Spiral State features Bianca Barnett (right, who will also be seen this year in the Mti release Albino Farm) and Lizzy Strain (above, who appeared opposite her sister Julie Strain in Abed’s previous The Devil’S Muse as well as Delta Delta Die! and others), who will appear at the Halo-8 table at the Weekend of Horrors with the director this Saturday, April 18. Spiral focuses on an angel (Ofri Fuchs) who begins to interact and interfere with the lives of humans (both good and evil), and a second angel (Adam Meir) who attempts to stop him.

One new movie I haven't heard much about until now is Ramzi Abed's The Devil's Muse, but that's all about to change. On September 30th Halo-8 Entertainment is releasing a deluxe two-disc set of the film. It'll be packed with goodies including a full-length soundtrack CD composed by David J (Bauhaus, Love & Rockets) and Ego Plum (Nicktoons' Making Fiends).
So, what's The Devil's Muse about? Halo-8 provided this summary:
When beautiful young actress Lisa Small (Kristen Kerr of David Lynch's Inland Empire) is cast as the tragic victim known as The Black Dahlia in a film about Hollywood's most famous unsolved murder, an entire dreamworld awakens around her. Meanwhile, a local sociopath has set out on a copycat murder spree timed out with the 60th anniversary of the original killing. A spider's web grows around Lisa as her nightmares and desires intersect with the death toll rising around her.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles creator Kevin Eastman is to bring his Heavy Metal comic book empire to the big screen.
Eastman, moviemaker David Fincher and animator Tim Miller will each direct a segment of the adult sci-fi movie.
Heavy Metal debuted in 1977 and has become a cult comic book series, often featuring an animated version of Eastman's wife, porn star Julie Strain.
Strain voiced her own character in an animated 2000 Heavy Metal movie.

Roger Corman's films have proved to be a fertile training ground for many names on both sides of the camera, from Jack Nicholson and Dennis Hopper to Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and Ron Howard.
But Odette Springer's documentary, "Some Nudity Required", isn't here to sing Corman's praises. Instead, Springer -- a classically trained musician and opera singer who spent four years working as her former boss' music supervisor -- has some very disturbing observations to make about the people, herself included, who would be drawn to such morsels of exploitation as "Sorority House Massacre" and "Midnight Tease".
As films with an agenda go, "Some Nudity Required" has its moments of enlightened clarity and some gloriously cheesy film clips and terrific bits of irony as Springer's subjects rationalize their choices in life with a "they're-not-using-me-I'm-using-them" earnestness.
But it tends to go overboard in the navel-gazing, self-therapy department as the filmmaker intensely analyzes her repulsion/attraction to the unabashedly sexist images surrounding her and comes to some eye-opening conclusions in the process.
Screened this year at Sundance, "Some Nudity Required" could do a little business with the art house set, not to mention some stragglers from the raincoat crowd who may be lured by the title.
When not turning her camera inward, Springer focuses on a colorful lineup of Corman personnel, including 6-foot-1-inch Julie Strain, reluctant scream queen Maria Ford, filmmakers Fred Olen Ray ("Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers") and Jim Wynorski ("Sorority House Massacre 2: Nighty Nightmare") and, briefly, a very uneasy-looking Corman.
Not surprisingly, there's a fairly strong whiff of chauvinism emanating from most of her male subjects. The pompous Wynorski is fond of saying things like "breasts are the cheapest special effects in our business."
One wishes Springer might have devoted some of the time spent taking her own pulse to talking to behavioral psychologists or even some of those who were given their proverbial big breaks from Corman. It's interesting to note (although the film doesn't) that the first "Slumber Party Massacre" in 1982 was directed by Amy Holden Jones ("Maid to Order"), with a screenplay credited to feminist author Rita Mae Brown.
Technical aspects are bargain-basement scrappy -- perfect for the genre at hand.
