The passage of time has pretty much proven Reiner's character, Micheal, was wrong on the issues. My guess is Micheal's views are the same as Rob Reiner's.

On "All In the Family" Micheal said the Earth would be over-populated and that there wouldn't be enough food for everyone by the end of the 20th Century. That's why the character didn't want more kids. Of course this has turned out no to be true.

Micheal said that another Ice Age would be coming, also not true.

Micheal thought that pulling out of Vietnam would bring peace there, not true.
