I have to appreciate that at least this a genuinely original concept, and a movie that deliberately took a risk, in an era when that's rare, when lazy reboots and sequels are the norm. And the writers are clearly self-aware about what they're doing, in a way that makes Sausage Party pretty watchable, with some genuinely funny moments... but self-aware or not, SP is completely immersed in the purest essence of cringe, from start to end...
(It's a pretty fun movie, though. In an era of inescapable, puritanical, politically-correct fart-huffing, it's a last-gasp of the uncensored,
un-PC sensibilty of stuff like John Waters, 'The Boondocks', 'The Producers', 'Borat' or 'South Park')
