- DirectorBorislav SharalievStarsRadko DishlievAntony GenovStoyan StoevThe film is based on Zahari Stoyanov's "Notes On Bulgarian Uprisings", a classic late-19th-century memoir. The narrative revolves round the preparation, the ups and downs, and the crushing of Bulgarian uprising against the Ottoman domination, which broke in April 1876. An event of great significance for the awakening of the national consciousness of the Bulgarian people, it attracted and held the attention of the European public. People across the continent were shocked by the bloody outrages of the oppressors. The film manages to present a sweeping picture of the complex and contradictory nature of the events it deals with. Revolutionary fervor, self-sacrifice and breath-taking heroism had to fight against crushing odds: the immense numerical superiority of the enemy, as well as certain instance of cowardice, dastardliness and even infamous treason. The film examines the personal experience of the leaders of the uprising, its heroes and martyrs (very successfully impersonated by a cast of young actors) against a background of fearsome upheavals and in the face of moments of greatness and downfalls, triumphs and defeats.

"The Crimean War" is a well-researched look into the conflict that shook Europe during the years 1853-56. - StarsYuriy KornishinAlexey ShramenkoThe war of 1853-1856 is often called the Crimean War. But the battle for Crimea was only an episode of that huge war. The confrontation of the Russian Empire with the combined forces of the allies - England, France, Turkey and the Sardinian kingdom - affected a vast territory: from the Baltic Sea to the Pacific Ocean. In fact, it was a war for world domination - a world war. What were the obvious and hidden reasons for the confrontation between the great powers which took place in the middle of the 19th century? How it all began and what place the Russian Empire ultimately occupied in the world political arena is described in this documentary.

- DirectorSvetoslav OvtcharovStarsAssen BlatechkiIvan BarnevValentin GanevSpring of 1913. Balkan War. Turkish armored ship terrorizes the Bulgarian army with it's long range cannons.
- DirectorChristian TwenteGerman Kaiser Wilhelm II considered the Ottoman sultan his natural ally against the British and French, and seemed acceptable as Germany has missed out on colonizing Muslim countries in the East. The Mahdi's revolt in the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan showed Muslim risings could tie down British troops within the vast empire. As archeology enabled them to become acquainted with the Middle East and Arab leaders, Th. E. Lawrence 'of Arabia' and Cologne Jewish bankers son Max Oppenheim each tried to recruit the Arabs fro their country's side in World war I, but they chose more money and the -worthless- promise of independence from the Ottomans over a call to jihad from the great sultan.
- DirectorChristian TwenteWhile the Arab caliphate never came close to extinguishing its Christian equivalent, its Mulim successor, the Ottoman Turkish empire, would do so twice. Sultan Mehmet's conquest of Constantinopel (renamed Istanbul) in 1453, thanks to superior artillery breaching its legendary walls, reduced the Byzantine empire to a shady mess and the Orthodox countries ripe for the picking. After their gradual conquest of the Balkans, the Ottomans even laid siege to Vienna, but ultimately the Catholic Hansburg empire was saved by a great coalition. In how far these religious wars constitute true jihad is as debatable as the Christian content of the crusades, as profane 'realpolitik' generally proved the decisive factor.
- DirectorAdela PeevaIt is a film about one of the ethnic cleansing in the Balkan Peninsula, which took place in in Bulgaria. The consequences of it are lasting till now. In the mid 80-ies the Bulgarian communist authorities started to forcefully change the Turkish names of about one million ethnic Turks into Bulgarian ones, in an attempt to resolve the ethnic problems that had been piled up for years. The film tells the stories about three women and their divided families. Each of them experienced in her own way this tragedy.

Britain, enforcing its policy of limiting Jewish immigration to Palestine, puts heavy pressure on the Turks not to let the ship pass through their territorial waters. On 23 February 1942 the Turks tow the disabled Struma out into the Black Sea. 12 hours later a Russian submarine locks on the boat and a single torpedo is fired. 24 hours later, Turkish fishermen go out to the site and find only one survivor. In 2000, using information provided by the sole survivor and the grandson of two Struma passengers, an international team of elite divers to find the watery grave of the Struma passengers. Immediately, a Turkish dive club claims to have found the wreck and with Turkish government support, attempts to obstruct the search for the Struma. Suddenly, contemporary politics mirror events of the early 1940's and the divers find themselves entangled in a 60-year-old cover-up.
