- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Enterprise is sent to a mining colony that is being terrorized by a mysterious monster, only to find that the situation is not that simple. My favorite episode of the Original Series! Love the plot, love the humor, love the message, love the spirk. It probably created the trope of [episode plot twist], but the same could be said for almost any Star Trek episode.
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyJoan CollinsWhen a temporarily insane Dr. McCoy accidentally changes history and destroys his time, Kirk and Spock follow him to prevent the disaster, but the price to do so is high. This is considered the best episode of the whole Original Series and I agree. It's just... so fucking good. And iconic. Just look at that title! Great story, great romance, great quotes: " 'Let me help.' A thousand or so years from now, I believe, a famous writer will recommend those three words even over 'I love you'."
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyIn the throes of his Pon Farr mating period, Spock must return to Vulcan to meet his intended future wife, betrothed from childhood. It's fuck or die Friday at the Vulcan nightclub!
- DirectorMarc DanielsStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyHarry Mudd returns with a plot to take over the Enterprise by stranding the crew on a planet populated by androids under his command.Surrealist Memes: The Episode
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Enterprise hosts a number of quarrelling diplomats, including Spock's father, but someone on board has murder in mind.Meet the parents: Spirk edition. Very good Spock episode, reveals a lot about his childhood and why he's like he is as a person. His mom is a delight (though she's still not great), and his dad fucking sucks (total DILF though). Also some great Spirk.
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyTo protect a space station with a vital grain shipment, Kirk must deal with Federation bureaucrats, a Klingon battle cruiser and a peddler who sells furry, purring, hungry little creatures as pets. This one is just a delight. Comfort episode.
- DirectorJames KomackStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe crew of the Enterprise struggles to cope with a planet of imitative people who have modeled their society on 1920s gangsters. The Gang Goes Mobster (in the planet of Mobsters)
- 1987–199446mTV-PG9.1 (6.3K)TV EpisodeDirectorRobert ScheererStarsPatrick StewartJonathan FrakesLeVar BurtonWhen Data resigns his commission rather than be dismantled for examination by an inadequately skilled scientist, a formal hearing is convened to determine whether Data is considered property without rights or is a sentient being.Considered one of the best in the franchise. Basically a court episode analyzing a fascinating philosophical question: what does it mean to be "sentient"? And who gets to decide that?
- DirectorLes LandauStarsPatrick StewartJonathan FrakesLeVar BurtonMuch to Picard's displeasure, Q reappears on the Enterprise, claiming to have been ejected from the Q Continuum, and therefore, lost his powers. All Q episodes are funny, but this one is by far the funniest. Requires a bit of backstory though.
- DirectorRobert WiemerStarsPatrick StewartJonathan FrakesLeVar BurtonData tries to comprehend the complex emotions between O'Brien and Keiko, who are about to be married.Ok, this one isn't very intellectual or anything, but it's very sweet and good look into Data's character. Has some lines that are very much kinnie moods.
- DirectorJonathan FrakesStarsPatrick StewartJonathan FrakesLeVar BurtonA retired admiral boards the Enterprise in an effort to determine the actions aboard the ship surrounding an act of sabotage and possible treason. This one is also considered one of the best in the franchise, and very rightly so. Very political, also somehow involving a court case. A really fucking good look into the slippery slope from rightful precaution to political paranoia. Also has the best Picard speech ever.
- DirectorWinrich KolbeStarsPatrick StewartJonathan FrakesLeVar BurtonPicard must learn to communicate with a race that speaks in metaphor under a difficult set of circumstances. This is one of my favorite episodes in the whole franchise! But I'm biased because I study linguistics for a living. That's most of what I can say without spoiling too much, but if you've ever seen me tweet "Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra", this episode is why.
- DirectorRobert LedermanStarsPatrick StewartJonathan FrakesLeVar BurtonThe Enterprise finds a lone Borg drone, separated from the collective, and brings him aboard. The drone begins to reassert his individuality, but his presence causes differing levels of fear and sympathy from various crew members.Another personal favorite, because stories about characters acquiring individuality through love and compassion always *punches chest* get me. Needs a bit of backstory regarding the Borg but nothing too much.
- 1987–199446mTV-PG7.4 (3.2K)TV EpisodeDirectorPatrick StewartStarsPatrick StewartJonathan FrakesLeVar BurtonWhile the crew is experiencing some much needed down time, Worf and his son go on an Old West excursion in the holodeck, where they meet several versions of Data serving as the bad guy after an experiment in Engineering goes wrong. The Gang Goes Old West (but it's all about Data)
- DirectorGabrielle BeaumontStarsPatrick StewartJonathan FrakesLeVar BurtonCollision with a quantum filament leaves Troi in charge of a damaged and endangered Enterprise with emergency bulkheads cutting off sections of the ship.Everything Happens So Much: The Episode
- DirectorKim FriedmanStarsAvery BrooksRene AuberjonoisAlexander SiddigDr. Bashir fights to save Garak's life when a device implanted in his brain, designed to alleviate pain in the event of torture, begins to malfunction and is slowly killing him.THE Garak/Bashir episode. It was so much that the writers got told to stop giving these guys scenes together. All I'll say is that "I Will" by Mitski is in my Garashir playlist for a reason.
- DirectorReza BadiyiStarsAvery BrooksRene AuberjonoisAlexander SiddigThe station goes into lockdown and the crew is endangered when an old Cardassian security program is accidentally activated.A perfect encapsulation of Deep Space Nine as a whole. Kira kicks ass, Sisko is very tired, O'Brien carries the whole station on his shoulders, Garak and Bashir can't stop flirting, and Dukat gets dunked on. A very good introduction to the characters and the series, so a good first.
- DirectorAvery BrooksStarsAvery BrooksRene AuberjonoisMichael DornLenara Kahn, the new host of the wife of Dax's former host Torias, comes to the station. While they're not allowed to renew their relation, there's still a spark. You already know wtf is going on. It's wlw worm time! Straight people can't appreciate this episode and for that I will always be salty.
- DirectorLeVar BurtonStarsAvery BrooksRene AuberjonoisMichael DornUnfair working conditions and pay cuts cause Rom to organize a union of the employees of Quark's Bar. Meanwhile, Worf still finds it hard to settle on the station. The Gang Forms A Union
- DirectorWinrich KolbeStarsAvery BrooksRene AuberjonoisMichael DornWhen a transporter emergency turns the command crew into holosuite characters, Bashir's James Bond fantasy takes on a deadly reality. And I get a little bit Gay James Bond...
- 1993–199945mTV-PG9.3 (4.1K)TV EpisodeDirectorJonathan WestStarsAvery BrooksRene AuberjonoisMichael DornSisko tells two men from Temporal Investigations how he and his crew went back in time to when Captain James Kirk of the first Starship Enterprise exposed a Klingon spy with the help of Tribbles. The Trouble With Tribbles 2: Electric Boogaloo!
