Just my personal opinion people. We have had a lot of stinkers, but we have also had some really good gems.

- DirectorJeff NicholsStarsMatthew McConaugheyTye SheridanJacob LoflandTwo young boys encounter a fugitive and form a pact to help him evade the vigilantes that are on his trail and to reunite him with his true love. With a great script, great characters, amazing cinematography, terrific directing, and the best performance I have seen in quite some time, Mud is nothing short of incredible. Best movie of the summer.
- DirectorGuillermo del ToroStarsIdris ElbaCharlie HunnamRinko KikuchiAs a war between humankind and monstrous sea creatures wages on, a former pilot and a trainee are paired up to drive a seemingly obsolete special weapon in a desperate effort to save the world from the apocalypse.Pacific Rim brings the Kaiju back in style. Containing cool set pieces, amazing visuals, good characters, great acting, beautiful action scenes, and a satisfying ending, Guillermo Del Toro's tribute to the monster movies of old manages to surpass all expectations. Pay attention Michael Bay, this is how it's done.
- DirectorJ.J. AbramsStarsChris PineZachary QuintoZoe SaldanaAfter the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction.Shaky third act aside, J.J Abram's sequel to his universally acclaimed reboot of the sci-fi franchise not only manages to stay true to the source material, but it also manages to do some unique things with it. Benedict Cumberpatch gives a incredible performance as John Harrison. But he is complimented by a good script, cool visuals, great action, and great acting. I think it is safe to say, the Star Wars franchise is in safe hands.
- DirectorMarc ForsterStarsBrad PittMireille EnosDaniella KerteszFormer United Nations employee Gerry Lane traverses the world in a race against time to stop a zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatens to destroy humanity itself.I came into World War Z with incredibly low expectations. I was well aware of how troubled its production had been, and the trailers were not doing it any favors. But I came out of it pleasantly surprised. World War Z is not only a great summer blockbuster, but also the best zombie film I have seen since the Dawn of The Dead remake.
- DirectorJames MangoldStarsHugh JackmanWill Yun LeeTao OkamotoWolverine comes to Japan to meet an old friend whose life he saved years ago, and gets embroiled in a conspiracy involving yakuza and mutants.Yet another film I was not looking forward to, due to the sheer flaming awfulness of the previous Wolverine movie. The Wolverine makes the franchise's future look brighter than ever, with a good script (Despite shaky villain motivations), sweet action, and Hugh Jackman's best performance yet, The Wolverine is without a doubt the best superhero movie of the summer.
- DirectorZack SnyderStarsHenry CavillAmy AdamsMichael ShannonAn alien child is evacuated from his dying world and sent to Earth to live among humans. His peace is threatened when other survivors of his home planet invade Earth.Due to the commercial disappointment that was Superman Returns (Which people hated for some reason I have yet to figure out), Warner Brothers decided to give the classic character a Nolan-esqe style reboot. And it succeeds, with a great lead, respect of the source material, a good script, and awesome action scenes. Man of Steel is a thrilling summer blockbuster.
- DirectorShane BlackStarsRobert Downey Jr.Guy PearceGwyneth PaltrowWhen Tony Stark's world is torn apart by a formidable terrorist called the Mandarin, he starts an odyssey of rebuilding and retribution.Following up one of the best superhero movies of all time (The Avengers) is no easy task. But Marvel has succeeded. With a great performance as always from Robert Downey Jr., great well directed action, a well done script, and an awesome twist, Iron Man 3 is a great entry point into phase two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
- DirectorDan ScanlonStarsBilly CrystalJohn GoodmanSteve BuscemiA look at the relationship between Mike Wazowski and James P. "Sully" Sullivan during their days at Monsters University, when they weren't necessarily the best of friends.Worried that Monsters University was going to be another Cars 2? Don't be. With Monsters University, Pixar has repaired its damaged reputation with a great prequel to one of its best films. Containing the Pixar magic that no other studio can replicate, Monsters University will be a joy to children and adults alike.
- DirectorJames WanStarsPatrick WilsonVera FarmigaRon LivingstonParanormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren work to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in their farmhouse.A well done horror film that (While it didn't really scare me all that much) manages to be creepy without using blood and gore. The Conjuring is a great ghost story that is a must-see for horror fans.
- DirectorJustin LinStarsVin DieselPaul WalkerDwayne JohnsonHobbs has Dominic and Brian reassemble their crew to take down a team of mercenaries, but Dominic unexpectedly gets sidetracked with facing his presumed deceased girlfriend, Letty.Well shot, well acted, and a ton of fun. Fast and Furious 6 takes what worked in Fast Five and expands on it, making a great summer blockbuster in the process.
