It was during this time that he became an early pioneer for LGBT rights within the Catholic church. He would speak out in the national news as well as work closely with the founding members of DIGNITY/USA. In 1990 he was called out of the city and into the desert of New Mexico where he began a six year apprenticeship to master the ancient art of painting icons. For the past 25 years he has received non-stop commissions for his work and has never signed his name to a single icon. All of his works hang anonymously in churches and colleges around the world, including the Vatican Museum. Born into the most powerful political family in the history of Colorado, McNichols colorful life has crossed paths with both presidents and popes, peace activists and martyrs. - DirectorJulie SimoneStarsPresley BarkerWayne C. HendersonKitty AmaralWinning over 20 awards on the festival circuit, FIDDLIN' had a nationwide U.S. theatrical event tour playing upwards of 50 markets and rocketed to the top of the iTunes Doc Charts upon release. Set in the Appalachian Mountains, FIDDLIN' is a foot-stomping celebration of true Americana profiling the birthplace of Bluegrass and Old-Time music. This hopeful, inspiring documentary shines a light on what is best about America. Filmed at the World's Oldest Fiddler's Convention, Fiddlin' shows the uplifting and healing power of music. With multi-generations jamming together and kids holding instruments instead of phones, it feels like taking a step back in time as we witness some off-the-charts pickin' and fiddlin'. There is an abundance of raw talent in FIDDLIN', with most talent playing by ear and certainly a number of stars in the making. Wayne Henderson, a world-renowned luthier known as the "guitar god," is a master craftsman and enthralling storyteller. Wayne's friendship with 11-year-old guitar prodigy, Presley Barker, shows how closely knit a community of musicians can be as even mentor and student compete against one another for that coveted blue ribbon. Phenomenal female talents, including Dori Freeman, Martha Spencer, Ivy Phillips and Kitty Amaral are all making their mark. They reveal the difficulties of women breaking into the bluegrass world. Karen Carr describes how music helped her overcome mental illness and saved her life. Sensational flat-foot dancing and some of the last known footage of Doc Watson visiting Wayne Henderson in his guitar shop are but a few topics in this rollicking documentary. Eddie Bond and Jon Lohman share little known history of the music origins and Jake Krack electrifies with his fiddle. These mountain musicians are determined to pass on their music and traditions with most claiming they will "play till the day they die". When the top 10 finalists are announced in the ultra-competitive guitar, we're in for an exciting finale. Sister filmmakers, Julie Simone and Vicki Vlasic, returned to their Appalachian roots to film FIDDLIN' at the Old Fiddlers' Convention for the first time in its 80 year history.

- DirectorJennifer Siebel NewsomStarsKimberle CrenshawLinda Darling-HammondRuby De TieThe Great American Lie is a documentary film that examines how a US value system built on the extreme masculine ideals of money, power and control has glorified individualism, institutionalized inequality, and undermined the ability of most Americans to achieve the American Dream. The main topic of this film is arguably one of the most important issues of our time: social and economic immobility. Inequality has been on the rise in America for more than three decades. Middle and low income wages have remained stagnant or decreased while top earners have seen their wages increase 135% since 1979. Today, the top .1% of Americans owns almost as much wealth as the bottom 90%. This film is incredibly timely because of the staggering state of inequality today, but this film is also important because it is new. By bringing the unique perspective of gender to this story, this film expands the conversation around the causes and solutions to America's inequality and division. With our history and experience in illuminating and challenging limiting gender narratives in our society, our documentary team is uniquely qualified to tell this story. Our first two films, Miss Representation and The Mask You Live In, lay the groundwork for understanding the impact of gender on individuals and communities in American society. We view The Great American Lie as the critical last film in this trilogy that will address the role of our gendered values on American society-at-large.
