Kirk's one advantage - they're not used to their adopted human form.Reaching a diplomatic solution with chops and chokeholds, seducing kisses, and the ultimate weapon: confusion. Captain James T. An incredibly entertaining episode with Kirk meeting his match in way, and the entire crew firing on all cylinders.

- DirectorJohn Meredyth LucasStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyKirk and a sub-skeleton crew are ordered to test out an advanced artificially intelligent control system - the M-5 Multitronic system, which could potentially render them all redundant.Possibly the best written episode I've seen as far as dialogue and Kirk-Spock-McCoy interplay goes, with a wonderfully humane sentiment to boot.
- DirectorJohn NewlandStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyJohn AbbottWith a war with Klingons raging, Kirk and Spock attempt to resist an occupation of a planet with incomprehensibly placid natives.
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyTo protect a space station with a vital grain shipment, Kirk must deal with Federation bureaucrats, a Klingon battle cruiser and a peddler who sells furry, purring, hungry little creatures as pets.
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDavid OpatoshuKirk and Spock must save their ship's crew when they are all declared killed in action in a bizarre computer simulated war where the actual deaths must nevertheless occur.
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyJoan CollinsWhen a temporarily insane Dr. McCoy accidentally changes history and destroys his time, Kirk and Spock follow him to prevent the disaster, but the price to do so is high. It's great! Basically the essence of TOS distilled. I personally find it a little less interesting than others seem, mostly because some of the sci-fi gets a little lost in all the melodrama.
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Enterprise hosts a number of quarrelling diplomats, including Spock's father, but someone on board has murder in mind.
- DirectorMarc DanielsStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyA powerful artificially intelligent Earth probe, with a murderously twisted imperative, comes aboard the Enterprise and mistakes Capt. Kirk for its creator.

- DirectorHal SutherlandStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyAfter finding himself erased from recent history, Spock must travel back in time to save himself as a youth.Oh, no, little Spock's voice actor's kind of horrible... otherwise this show (Yesteryear) is pretty much on par with some of the best TOS had to offer.
- DirectorMarc DanielsStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyRicardo MontalbanWhile on patrol in deep space, Captain Kirk and his crew find and revive a genetically-engineered world conqueror and his compatriots from Earth's Twentieth Century. The limp conclusion with Marla and Khan will forever rub me the wrong way.
- DirectorGene NelsonStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyKirk, Uhura and Chekov are trapped on a planet where abducted aliens are enslaved and trained to perform as gladiators for the amusement of bored, faceless aliens.Oh, boy! This is a straight up B-movie, and I love it.
- DirectorRobert GistStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDon MarshallThe Galileo, under Spock's command, crash-lands on a hostile planet. As the Enterprise races against time to find the shuttlecraft, Spock's strictly logical leadership clashes with the fear and resentment of his crew.Spock (i.e. Leonard Nimoy) finally gets to shine here.
- DirectorLeo PennStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyA transporter malfunction splits Captain Kirk into two halves: one meek and indecisive, the other violent and ill tempered. The remaining crew members stranded on the planet cannot be beamed up to the ship until a problem is fixed.
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Enterprise is sent to a mining colony that is being terrorized by a mysterious monster, only to find that the situation is not that simple.
- DirectorMarc DanielsStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyHarry Mudd returns with a plot to take over the Enterprise by stranding the crew on a planet populated by androids under his command.Such a fun episode. The whole cast musta had a jolly good time hamming it up oh so deliciously.
- DirectorRobert WiseStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyWhen an alien spacecraft of enormous power is spotted approaching Earth, Admiral James T. Kirk resumes command of the overhauled USS Enterprise in order to intercept it.
- DirectorRalph SenenskyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyJill IrelandThe Enterprise investigates a planet whose colonists should be dead, but are not.The heart of the episode is bigger than its brains, but it has some iconic and heartwrenching scenes.
- DirectorHerschel DaughertyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Enterprise crew attempts to stop a plague of amoeba-like creatures from possessing human hosts and spreading throughout the galaxy.
- 1966–196951mTV-PG7.1 (3.1K)TV EpisodeDirectorAnton LeaderStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Enterprise discovers an apparent asteroid that is on a collision course with a planet is actually an ancient populated generation ship. The best title in the whole Trek-verse.
Oh, how I hate how neatly this episode wraps things up. Guess that's the drawback of one-off episodes. I do love how McCoy-centric it is, however, and think the love story quite touching, actually. - DirectorHerb WallersteinRalph SenenskyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyWith Capt. Kirk and the derelict USS Defiant apparently lost, the Enterprise grapples with an insanity causing plague and an attack by the Tholians.
- DirectorRalph SenenskyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyCapt. Kirk obsessively hunts for a mysterious cloud creature he encountered in his youth.
- DirectorMarvin J. ChomskyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyWhen Kirk, Spock and McCoy investigate the disappearance of a doomed planet's population, they find themselves trapped in different periods of that world's past.
- DirectorJohn Meredyth LucasStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyAn apparently insane Capt. Kirk has the Enterprise deliberately enter the Romulan Neutral Zone where the ship is immediately captured by the enemy.Fun plot, Shatner shines, and sparks fly between Spock and the lovely Joanne Linville.
- DirectorHal SutherlandStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyA famous humanitarian is found alive near the Romulan Neutral Zone after being missing for five years, but he may not be who he claims to be.
- DirectorJames KomackStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe crew of the Enterprise struggles to cope with a planet of imitative people who have modeled their society on 1920s gangsters.Kirk, Spock and McCoy chewing it up with tommy guns is tremendous fun.
- DirectorRalph SenenskyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyLovely telepath Miranda is aide to Ambassador Kollos, in a box to stop insanity when humans see Medusans. She rejects Larry, a designer of Enterprise, and senses murderous intent nearby.
- DirectorVincent McEveetyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyAs punishment for ignoring their warning and trespassing on their planet, the Melkot condemn Capt. Kirk and his landing party to the losing side of a surreal recreation of the 1881 historic gunfight at the OK Corral.Fun! It's kind of awesome to have the gunfight at the O.K. Corral be a part of Star Trek (and I love Westerns anyway).
Pretty neat work-around the fact that (I'm assuming) they didn't have complete sets. - 1973–197523mTV-PG6.6 (739)TV EpisodeDirectorHal SutherlandStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyExposed to spiroid epsilon waves, the Enterprise crew begins to shrink in size. If a way can not be found to stop their condition, they will soon be too small to control the ship.Like playing with Star Trek action figures. It's tremendous fun, and exactly what this animated series is for (considering how hard it would've been to execute such a script live action).
- DirectorMarvin J. ChomskyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyBoth humans and Klingons have been lured to a planet by a formless entity that feeds on hatred and has set about to fashion them into a permanent food supply for itself.Love the performances and energy of this episode. Michael Ansara is great!
Weird to see Chekov be so rapey, though... - 1973–197524mTV-PG7.0 (926)TV EpisodeDirectorHal SutherlandStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyCyrano Jones returns, infesting the Enterprise with tribbles that now grow to monstrous size.
- DirectorVincent McEveetyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyLooking for a missing Federation cultural observer, Kirk and Spock find themselves on a planet whose culture has been completely patterned after Nazi Germany.
- DirectorLawrence DobkinStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyRobert Walker Jr.Captain Kirk must learn the limits to the power of a 17-year-old boy with the psionic ability to create anything and destroy anyone.
- DirectorRalph SenenskyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Enterprise crew investigates the disappearance of a ship's crew on a planet that is a modern version of the Roman Empire. Not the most well-rounded of episodes (bit of a throw everything at the wall and run with what sticks situation), but it is rather fun, and the Spock-McCoy stuff's just great. Oh, and Scotty at the helm, always fun.
- DirectorGerd OswaldStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyRobert BrownExistence itself comes under threat from a man's power-struggle with his alternate self, with the Enterprise's strained dilithium crystals presenting his key to a final solution.A fascinating theory wrapped in a sloppily executed story, but all in all The Alternative Factor was quite ahead of its time and stands underrated still.
- DirectorJud TaylorStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyA group of aliens who exist in a state of incredible acceleration invade the Enterprise and abduct Capt. Kirk. We'll be drinking coffee from paper cups just the same in the 23rd century, huh?
Anyways, far from being logically sound, this is a fun one. Not sure if the constant background noise and Dutch angles add to the episode or detract, though. - DirectorMichael O'HerlihyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyRoger PerryThe Enterprise is thrown back in time to 1960s Earth.
- DirectorMarc DanielsStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyStewart MossThe crew is infected with a mysterious disease that removes people's emotional inhibitions to a dangerous degree.
- DirectorJames GoldstoneStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyGary LockwoodThe flight recorder of the 200-year-old U.S.S. Valiant relays a tale of terror--a magnetic storm at the edge of the galaxy.
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyHarry TownesSeeking the answer to a century-old mystery, Kirk and crew encounter a vacantly peaceful society under a 6000-year autocratic rule that kills all those it can't absorb.
- DirectorRobert ButlerStarsJeffrey HunterSusan OliverLeonard NimoyCapt. Pike is held prisoner and tested by aliens who have the power to project incredibly lifelike illusions.
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyA landing party from the Enterprise is exposed to strange form of radiation which rapidly ages them.
- DirectorWilliam ShatnerStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyCaptain Kirk and his crew must deal with Mr. Spock's long-lost half-brother who hijacks the Enterprise for an obsessive search for God at the center of the galaxy.
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyKirk and the Enterprise computer become detectives after Scotty is accused of murdering women on a pleasure planet. With such an out-there premise this shoud have been more enjoyable, still there are some truly wonderful moments to cherish.
I just can't help but think how great it could have been. Had it been wittier, and lit moodier, we'd have our hands on a fine piece of Star Trek Noir/Krimi.
Oh, and what's with that early exposition dump establishing Scotty as some newfound 'woman-hater'. I mean... come again, what now?! - DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyPrimitive inhabitants of Gamma Trianguli VI worship a god who orders them to kill visitors from the Enterprise.
- DirectorDon McDougallStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyWilliam CampbellA being that controls matter and creates planets wants to play with the Enterprise crew.
- DirectorJames GoldstoneStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyMichael StrongNurse Chapel is reunited with her fiancé; but his new obsession leads him to make an android duplicate of Captain Kirk.
- DirectorVincent McEveetyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyJames GregoryKirk and psychiatrist Helen Noel are trapped on a maximum security penal colony that experiments with mind control and Spock must use the Vulcan mind-meld to find a way to save them.
- DirectorVincent McEveetyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyMark LenardThe Enterprise must decide on its response when a Romulan ship makes a destructively hostile armed probe of Federation territory.
- DirectorMarc DanielsStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyPercy RodriguesKirk draws a court martial in the negligent death of a crewman.
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Federation clashes with the Klingon Empire over mining rights to Capella IV. A sudden coup between its warrior-minded inhabitants forces Kirk's party to flee with the now dead leader's pregnant wife.A rather campy episode (even by TOS standards), but it's not without its moments. Seeing Scotty commandeering the ship is always a joy, Bones gets to shine (even though he does slap a pregnant woman), and Julie Newmar is one hell of a woman.
An overall pleasant lighthearted watch. - DirectorJud TaylorStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyTrapped on a planet whose inhabitants are descended from Northwestern Native Americans, Kirk loses his memory and is proclaimed a God while the crippled Enterprise races back to the planet before it is destroyed by an asteroid.Sooo much that simply doesn't fly in this epidose, but it's kinda nice to see Kirk happy and at peace.
- DirectorRalph SenenskyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Enterprise is guided to a distant, long-dead world where survivors of an extremely ancient race - existing only as disembodied energy - desiring the bodies of Kirk, Spock and astro-biologist Ann Mulhall so that they may live again.Another somewhat misguided episode.
The Enterprise crew voluntarily going ahead with a creepy bodysnatcher premise is something I just do not buy. Even with Kirk's rousing risk speech, it's just an insane leap of faith. That said, there's some pretty cool stuff in this episode, and Leonard Nimoy once again brings a wonderful performance, proving he was head and shoulders above the rest of the cast.
Also, I'm fairly certain of the implication when Nurse Chapel and Spock, well, "share consciousness" - and all I can say is... FINALLY! - DirectorJud TaylorStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Enterprise encounters two duo-chromatic and mutually belligerent aliens who put the ship in the middle of their old conflict. As far as epsidoes tackling social issues go it's both too simplistic and surprisingly multifaceted. The reflection might be a bit muddled, but it's all fairly effective still. There's plenty of fun camerawork, though, and the self-destruct sequence is pretty cool.
- DirectorMurray GoldenStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyOn a planet, looking for an urgent medicinal cure, Kirk, Spock and McCoy come across a dignified recluse living privately but in splendor with his sheltered ward and a very protective robot servant.
- DirectorHal SutherlandStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Enterprise and a Klingon ship are trapped in space-time warp where only their cooperation will allow them to escape.
- DirectorRobert SparrStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyEmily BanksThe past months have left the crew exhausted and in desperate need of a break, but does this explain McCoy's encounter with a human-sized white rabbit or Kirk crossing paths with the prankster who plagued his days at Starfleet Academy?
- DirectorHerb WallersteinStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyCaptain Kirk's insane ex-lover Dr. Janice Lester forcibly switches bodies with him in order to take command of the Enterprise.
- DirectorHerb WallersteinStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyKirk and Spock are taken prisoners by a former starship captain named Garth, who now resides at, and has taken over, a high security asylum for the criminally insane. As silly as it is I just LOVE that double-Kirk ending.
- DirectorMarc DanielsStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyA powerful being claiming to be the Greek god Apollo appears and demands that the crew of the Enterprise disembark onto his planet to worship him.Love the concept, not the execution.
- DirectorDavid AlexanderStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyAfter Dr. McCoy helps the leader of a planet populated by people with powerful psionic abilities, they decide to force him to stay by torturing his comrades until he submits. Not particularly interesting, but the 'Maiden Wine' scene is great (love Nimoy's singing), the Kirk and Alexander scenes are touching, and the climax is solid.
- DirectorJohn ErmanStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyTrapped in an alien laboratory, Kirk, Spock and McCoy meet an empath and are involved in a series of experiments. There's a wonderful sentiment to the premise, but it's only interesting for about 15 minutes, which The Empath streeeeeetches out to the good ol' 50.
- DirectorRalph SenenskyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyWhile returning to the Enterprise aboard the shuttlecraft, Kirk, Spock, McCoy and a seriously ill Federation diplomat find themselves kidnapped by an energized cloud. The schmaltz is strong with this one...
The production is lovely, some of Kirk's monologues are wonderful, and it's always nice to see Scotty helming the Enterprise, yet it's one of my least favourite episodes for sure.
The first half of Metamorphosis raises a rather interesting romantic conundrum/mystery, which is then completely undermined by a horribly misguided ending (that throws the entire premise into the bin). I hoped it wouldn't conclude the way I was expecting from the halfway point, alas it did, and the episode's morals are all the more questionable for it.
And I don't mean love between two different yet intelligent life forms by the way, but Coon giving into the superficial desires/terms and ideas of an outdated and honestly kind of bigoted character in his script. - DirectorGerd OswaldStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyArnold MossWhile Captain Kirk investigates whether an actor is actually a presumed dead mass murderer, a mysterious assailant is killing the people who could identify the fugitive.
- 1973–197523mTV-PG5.8 (821)TV EpisodeDirectorHal SutherlandStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyAt the centre of the galaxy, a race puts the Enterprise crew on trial for past grievances.Never would've thunk I'd see a pro-Lucifer storyline in a TOS episode. I really like the first coupla minutes, until it turns into pure "Magick", which is about as nonsensical and dumb, as it is charming and fun.
- DirectorMarc DanielsStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyJeanne BalDr. McCoy discovers his old flame is not what she seems after crew members begin dying from a sudden lack of salt in their bodies.
- DirectorJohn Meredyth LucasStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyWhile transporting an arrogant, demanding princess for a political marriage, Captain Kirk must cope both with her biochemical ability to force him to love her, as well as sabotage on his ship.Sort of half baked, iffy antiquated subtext, and it's oh so terribly entertaining. France Nuyen's great and Shatner working his comedy chops is always fun. I kinda love the ending, too.
Kirk's a real dummy this episode, though. - DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyVery alien visitors to our galaxy attempt to connect with human consciousness but miss, winding up tapping into the regions of human nightmares instead.Objectively one of the worst episodes, but the camp factor is so high, I'd say it's rather enjoyable as a Star Trek Halloween venture.
- DirectorHerschel DaughertyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyKirk, Spock, Abraham Lincoln and Vulcan legend Surak are pitted in battle against notorious villains from history for the purpose of helping a conscious rock creature's understanding of a concept he does not understand, "good vs. evil".
- DirectorHerbert KenwithStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyA mysterious, twinkling mass of sapient energy ravages an important archive and Scotty's new girlfriend may be linked to it.
- DirectorHarvey HartStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyRoger C. CarmelThe Enterprise picks up untrustworthy entrepreneur Harry Mudd accompanied by three beautiful women who immediately put a spell on all the male crew members. The character of Mudd is a lot of fun, but that's basically it.
- DirectorJoseph PevneyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyFor bringing hostility into their solar system, a superior alien race brings Captain Kirk into mortal combat against the reptilian captain of an alien ship he was pursuing. No matter how iconic Arena might be, for me it has been lampooned to death. I don't necessarily think too highly of it anyway...
- DirectorMarc DanielsStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe crew of the Enterprise pursues a mysterious woman who has abducted Spock's brain. What's with Scotty's hairdo? That slicked-back ain't half bad actually. Unlike this episode...
Spock's Brain is genuinely dumb, but highly watchable, in that usual disarming campy way.
They're keeping with Scotty's stereotypical sexism, I see. At least there seems to be a (very) half baked pro women's lib message (even if there's an air of condescension to it) -- maybe?
"Brain and brain! What is brain?"
Rest In Peace Marj Dusay! - 1973–197525mTV-PG6.5 (904)TV EpisodeDirectorHal SutherlandStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyFemale crew members must take over the Enterprise when the men are incapacitated by a race of sirens.Notable for Uhura taking control, and the planet's design I love, but otherwise The Lorelai Signal isn't particularly remarkable.
- 1973–197525mTV-PG6.6 (1.1K)TV EpisodeDirectorHal SutherlandStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Enterprise finds an ancient abandoned starship with a malevolent entity aboard, eager to take over the Starfleet ship.
- DirectorHerb WallersteinStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyAfter the Enterprise landing party beams down to investigate a geologically interesting planet, their ship is hurled across the galaxy. Kirk and company find a deserted outpost guarded by the deadly image of a beautiful woman."I know what time it is. I don't need a bloomin' cuckoo clock."
The scenes aboard the Enterprise are kinda cool, but everything else's just dumb. If Spock was emotional in The Mark of Gideon, then the pendulum swung waaay in the other direction. He's an total a-hole, here. - DirectorMarc DanielsRobert ButlerStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyJeffrey HunterSpock kidnaps the disabled Capt. Pike, hijacks the Enterprise, and then surrenders for court martial.I guess actually using footage from The Cage is better than scratching it, but it's just so shoe-horned into an already bland plot that the incorporation seems lazy, no matter how well intentioned it was.
- DirectorRobert ButlerMarc DanielsStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyJeffrey HunterAt Spock's court martial, he explains himself with mysterious footage about when Capt. Pike was kidnapped by powerful illusion casting aliens.Part 1 at least had an "original" premise, Part II is mostly just The Cage...
- DirectorDavid AlexanderStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyA group of idealistic hippies, led by an irrational leader, come aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. Most amusing.
- DirectorJud TaylorStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyKirk and Spock are caught up in a revolution on a planet where intellectuals and artists live on a utopian city in the sky while the rest of the population toils in mines on the barren surface below.
- 1973–197523mTV-PG6.4 (721)TV EpisodeDirectorHal SutherlandStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyWhile the Enterprise investigates a water-world, Captain Kirk and Commander Spock go missing. They've been abducted by the world's inhabitants and altered into water-breathers as well.
- DirectorMarc DanielsStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyWhile back in time observing Earth in 1968, the Enterprise crew encounters the mysterious Gary Seven who has his own agenda on the planet. As a pilot for the adventures of Gary Seven it's decent in its own right, but there's baaaarely 10 minutes worth of actual Star Trek here. Never been much of a cross-over fan, anyways (probably my least favourite episodes from the old Hanna-Barbera cartoons were some of those). Teri Garr's wonderful (with some rather weighty throw-away lines), though, and seeing footage from the '67 test launch is fun, I guess.
- 1973–197523mTV-PG6.1 (813)TV EpisodeDirectorHal SutherlandStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyOn a planet of intelligent plantlike creatures, the clone of a human scientist clones Mr. Spock for use in a galactic peace mission.
- DirectorVincent McEveetyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyKim DarbyThe Enterprise discovers a planet exactly like Earth, but the only inhabitants are children who contract a fatal disease upon entering puberty.
- DirectorMarvin J. ChomskyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Enterprise reaches a Federation colony where the adults have all killed themselves but the children play without care.Eeeehh, there's some fun stuff in there amidst the annoyingly repetitive fist-shaking.
- 1973–197523mTV-PG6.2 (759)TV EpisodeDirectorHal SutherlandStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyUpon returning to the amusement park planet, the Enterprise crew finds the computer, which generates the planet's sophisticated robots, running amok, with the caretaker nowhere to be found."...for the kids."
- DirectorHal SutherlandStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe Enterprise crew once again runs afoul of the incorrigible Harry Mudd, this time hawking a love potion that greatly influences Spock and the crew.
- DirectorVincent McEveetyStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyResponding to a distress signal, Kirk finds Captain Tracey of the U.S.S. Exeter violating the prime directive and interfering with a war between the Yangs and the Kohms to find the secret of their longevity."Keep talking, Spock, don't let me doze off."
Oh, boy... this one's problematic on multiple fronts to say the least. I'm sure Mr. Roddenberry's heart was in the right place, but his 'Stars and Stripes' script is weak, and this is just a borderline stupid, and simply misguided episode (not to mention those awkward zooms). At least we get Morgan Woodward giving it his all. - DirectorJud TaylorStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyKirk beams down to the planet Gideon and appears to find himself trapped on a deserted Enterprise. Spock on the real Enterprise must use his diplomatic skills to deal with the uncooperative inhabitants of Gideon and find the Captain.Just awful. A genuinely interesting concept executed in the sloppiest of ways. It's barely thought out, there's no logic, no suspense, and the romance is totally tacky... What I genuinely hate here, though, is how out of character the crew acts in this episode. As if they were written by someobody who's only vaguely familiar with the show. Spock's snappy dumb agression and diplomat bashing definitely takes the biscuit.
