In this series, viewers follow and get to know ordinary people who, due to various circumstances, are forced to rely on welfare to survive. Is dependency on welfare something that runs in families? In the series, we meet several individuals whose parents and children all rely on benefits. In the series "Bidragsberoende" (Tukien Varassa), we meet individuals who, for various reasons, are not part of the working world. Forced to rely on social benefits to survive, some find solace in food lines that provide free meals, a crucial lifeline to make ends meet. Intergenerational poverty and exclusion have plagued many we encounter, with some being the second or third generation dependent on welfare to stay afloat. The series raises a thought-provoking question: Should society strive to find employment for all, or is it that not everyone is meant to be part of the workforce?
