- Struggle, Joy, Failure, Success; words like these could serve as the backdrop for the next big hollywood blockbuster, or as a description of a tattoo artists life. Color Outside the Lines is the first film that provides a deep look into the history, culture and lives of the world's top black tattoo artists. Creating a film that would accurately tell the stories of these amazing artists, was initially a dream that manifested into a reality when world renowned tattoo artist, Miya Bailey linked with burgeoning filmmaker Artemus Jenkins. After three years of filming and tattooing everywhere from Atlanta to Amsterdam, this film is here to make sure the story and legacies of these artists will live on forever.
- When mourning past love ,we get to choose to remember only the best parts. Always the roses, never the thorns - but there are ALWAYS thorns. BLACK DOVE follows the memory and mourning of the death of a relationship.
- Woman Business is a story of sorcery disguised in everyday happenings that would make it easy to miss unless you look closely.
- The Colored Hospital is a visual tone poem told through the eyes of a young black man who searches for emotional healing and identity in a country bombarded by violence, hatred and toxic social norms.
- WHY, the question that is often asked once a wrongdoing has been committed but how much does the reasoning behind the behavior actually matter?
- Too often in love, people are not straight shooters. Enough of the time people don't simply lay their cards on the table and let the other make an educated decision. With no 'carfax' you are left to take people based on what's in front of you but that's not always their real selves. It's an optical illusion. 'Smoke and Mirrors' centers around the life of newly single, filmmaker Sonny Richard, who must reacclimate himself to the complexities of male and female relationships, just when he thought he had it all figured out.
- "If You Know the Words, Feel Free is a film about life; the various ways it tests, molds and prepares us to live it. Life is something we all experience differently, but it still stands as a song we at some point, all know the words to. It doesn't matter how we know or who taught us. It doesn't matter what octave you choose to sing in, be it nice and easy or double time, a common thread is not hard to find. The powerful, shared experience of life and trying to live it the best way you know how is what brought all the people who helped make this film possible. We invite everyone who understands this song, feel free to listen, watch and experience. Feel free to share with others and of course if you know the words, feel free to sing along.
- Life can sometimes feel impossible to navigate...especially when you're hungry.
